My 18-month old son fell in the bathtub tonight and chipped one of his front teeth. We have not yet been to a pedi dentist even though he has all but the last 4 molars. Since it's a baby tooth, will a dentist fix it? Any recommendations in the Lake Worth/Saginaw area? Thanks in advance.
My son chipped a tooth at a year old. I took him to the dentist with me and he told me the same thing. Keep an eye on it and make sure to keep it clean. It was not broke to the root nor did it bother him. He will loose it eventually so there was no sense in doing anything. I would see a dentist just to be safe.

By the time my daughter was 18 months old she had chipped three teeth. I took her to the dentist and there is nothing they can do. They will just watch them and if it is not hurting then she is o.k.
my son also chipped both of his top teeth at 18 month like everyone else said not much you can do but you do need to check to make sure it does not turn grey or look spotty or anything else. if it does then yes you do need to take him in. other than that be careful chipped teeth are sharp!! i learned that the hard way when he went through a biting stage!
My 18-month old son also chipped his front tooth. I took him to a pediatric dentist. She said that it was still "ok" because it was "just enamel." A couple of weeks later I started noticing that it was turning grey. I have to pen him down to brush his teeth each time. I took him back to the same office and a different dentist said that he needs surgery! He has to go under gerneral anesthesia and I am scared to death. I am angry because I was told that it was fine one week and then not too long afterwards he needs general anesthesia! Be careful, moms!
My daughter also chipped a tooth when she was about 14 months. She did it climbing out of her crib (toddler bed was set up then). It is a small chip and the dentist told me that they will watch it and unless she develops a cavity in it, they will leave it alone. It is a pretty small chip. Mainly she just lost the corner. I would still talk to a dentist about it (call them they can be very helpful over the phone), but chances are, if it is a small chip, they will leave it alone. My daughter is now a little over 2 years and has not developed a cavity in the tooth. Of course, she LOVES to brush her teeth and that may help in that area. Hope this helps.
