I feel like I am going crazy lately because a lot of the symptoms/discomforts I had in my 1st trimester seem to have returned on top of the 3rd trimester fun. I was just wondering if any of you moms experienced a return of nausea/vomitting in your 3rd trimester. I have had the nausea to some extent throughout the whole pregnancy but lately my sense of smell and gag reflex are working overtime sending me to the bathroom. I have the fun diarrhea and indigestion accompanied with heartburn from hell which is expected as d-day draws near (I am in my 38th week so anytime) but all of it together with this upturn in nausea has me a little concerned and really uncomfortable! I do not remember this type of activity with my first. Any helpful tips or related experiences are much appreciated! Hopefully it means the end is near and the waiting in turmoil is over!
I am a midwife and routinely see this in my late 3rd trimester clients. It's caused by a shift in hormones and usually means your getting really close to going into labor. No promises, of course, but it is a good sign.
I would go to the doctor and ask them to test your blood sugar and possibly your liver enzymes. Especially if you are really thirsty. I won't scare you with my story... but you need to make sure there is nothing seriously wrong. Don't ignore it.
I had Hyperemisis Gravidarium during my pregnancy. The first 20 weeks were horrible in and out of the hospital. Then it got a little better until 33 weeks and then I was puking again and felt like I had the flu. Good thing is you are almost there. Hang on it won't be much longer.
I am sorry to hear you are not feeling well- My cousin is a midwife and when i thought about having kids she gave me the scoop. One of the things she told me was that this can happen. I remembered it cuss I prayed it didnt happen to me. She said some people can be like that the whole time other more than not get it in the beg. and some in the end. If you are really concerned though call your doc or tell them at your next weekly visit. A peace of mind at this stage is worth everything. Best wishes
For the first three months of the pregnancy I was so sick that I lost 20 pounds. I had to go to the ER to get rehydrated because I could not keep down water, milk, and any type of food. The second trimester was okay besides the galbladder problems. The third trimester I was sick again, the heart burn was awful... everything else returned and it stayed until a few days after I had given birth. I am not sure if it is normal or not... my pregnancy was NOT a good experience. If you have concerns talk to your doctor. Mine said it can happen near the end again. Good luck! If you haven't done so already, I would call your doctor's office right away and discuss your symptoms with them. Since you are in your 38th week I wouldn't mess around with any concerns. I ignored contractions that went away after they kept me up all night from 1:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., just to rush to the hospital with barely enough time to deliver my son. We pulled into the parking lot at 4:20 p.m. and he was delivered by 4:58 p.m. He was three weeks and a day early. Good luck :o)!
I had a similar experience as my time drew near. I found that taking Zantac 150 every 12 hours (on the advice of my DR.) really made a BIG difference. It not only helps with the killer heartburn, but also helps the nausea/indigestion, too. Best of luck to you!
Call your doctor with any concerns just to be on the safe side. I'd but baby is so pushed up against on your stomach that food is having a hard time staying down. I got diarrhea with my first at 36 weeks to find out I was having preterm labor and I was on bedrest. With my second I had to go poop like 6 times in the morning along with contractions (had been sent home the night before saying I wasn't in labor at all, wrong) and finally arrived at the hospital after 1:30 to have him shortly after 2. You could be about ready to deliver or be ill, best to call.
I went through the same thing. My first pregnancy was very easy. I had NO pregnancy syptoms what so ever. My second pregnancy quite the opposite. I had EVERY symptom and then some. I had every thing you described alot with swelling incontinence, and hemoroids. If you are concerned, it wouldn't hurt to let your doctor know. I checked with mine (due to my age I was monitored constantly), and in my case everything was perfect with my daughter, it was just pretty h*** o* me. Good luck and congrats on your new one.
Congratulations! Sounds a lot like my second pregnancy! At least your lucky and it's only showing up close to the end! My Dr. said it was normal for those symptoms to return. Good news! He told me that second pregnancies are worse (harder on the body) BUT second deliveries are EASIER!!!!! That was definitely true with me! I was induced with both, but my second was born in just a few hours and my first took 12! I also recovered a lot quicker and didn't need the horrible episiotomy (SP?)! You've only got a few more weeks! Hang in there! You can do it! It will all be worth it in the end! Once you find out if you have a new son or daughter and you hold him or her in your arms, you will forget all the other stuff you went through!
It could also mean your body is getting ready to go into labor! If you're really worried about it don't hesitate to ask your Dr. That piece of mind would make you feel better too!
