2 C-sec. Both Preg. Were Breech. Want to Vbac After 2 C's

Not many people will take on a women who has had 2 c-sections for a v-bac. Too scared of the liability or risk. Typically, vbac is allowed after only 1 c-sec. Do you know anybody OB, Family Dr. or midwife willing to take me on? I'm desperate to locate somebody. I would much rather birth at home on my own turf so I have less intervention. I can't get drugs to start labor due to the c-sec. but I don't want to be rushed and want my body to do its thing. Any naturalist out there? I live close to Woodwinds hospital. This completely stinks that I can't locate anybody near me to help me do this life changing event. I am not pregnant now but will be adding to my family this year. If I can't find anybody I am seriously thinking of taking it upon myself and reading up on delivery and doing it myself so please ask around and help me. I'm in Inver Grove Heights. Thanks.

What can I do next?

You didn't mention why you had the c-sec the first two times. Were they planned or emergency? Taking on a V-bac at home with or without a midwife sounds very dangerous.

If you have not done so yet, also head over to mothering.com and ask in their community. The forum has subsections that are dedicated to home birth and unassisted birth. You may be able to find a referral there or just some support.
Remember that it is your body and no one can force surgery on you, that you do not consent to.

Check into these organizations: ICAN http://www.ican-online.org/ and the Birth Survey http://www.thebirthsurvey.com/.

ICAN has a list of providers, and the birth survey is designed so women can give feedback on their providers and hospitals. Both these should tell you if they are vbac friendly.

Try looking up a Bradley Method instructor in your area. They would know if anyone does vba2cs.

Keep asking questions!!!! Anyone in the birth community (midwife, doula, childbirth educator) up there should know who will work with you. Just keep asking.

Good luck!

All I can suggest is to employ a midwife privately, if you want to do a home birth. Otherwise, the women at North Metro Midwives in Golden Valley are spectacular. NorthMetroMidwives.com

You could try contacting Generations Women's clinic in Shoreview. Penny delivered my last baby, and she and I were chatting and I know she has special interest in delivering VBAC's and will also deliver twins. I'm not sure what their policies are, but it is surely worth a call. I delivered my last two at St. Joe's in St. Paul and the hospital/nursing staff were extremely supportive of my drug free labor's.

Another good resource is Blooma in Edina. The owner Sarah is a doula and has a ton of resources and references available. MANY of the mom's who take yoga classes their are planning for VBAC's. She offers birthing classes specific for VBAC Mom's, and also hosts Doula meet and greets on occasion. I highly recommend a phone call and/or visit.

Good luck to you!

I have a friend who successfully had a VBAC after two emergency C-sections. I'm afraid I don't know which hospital she went through, but they do exist. Having a home birth with your history sounds very risky for you and a baby. Please keep looking for medical professionals that will help you have the type of birth you want, if possible, but also have the help available if an emergency situation arises.
