Hi, I need some help. What are you getting your 2.5 yr old girl for Christmas? We have no idea what to get her. We are thinking about maybe an electric car for her big gift. If you have one, would you recommend it? Any other ideas for big gifts or even some smaller gifts? Thank you for your help.

What can I do next?

My daughter is much older than 2 1/2 now, but when she was that age we got her a Barbie Big Wheel. We felt like it was something that she would have fun with, but also get a little excercise. I must add that she was always very tall for her age, so she didn't have any trouble reaching the peddles. She loved it. I have to agree with Jennifer also. She loved her play kitchen and food. I can't tell you how many "meals" we shared!

My 2 1/2 yr old loves anything that is pretend play like kitchens and stuff. We are getting her a kitchen and a L. table and chair set. My SIL got her the ironing board from Target that she will LOVE and my sister got her a cash register. My daughter loves dolls too so my MIL got her a high chair for her babydoll and my mom got her the Fisher Price Loving Family doll house. We got her a L. ride on quad for Christmas last year and she loves it, so does my 13 month old son. She also loves to paint so I like to buy her art stuff even though I cringe every time she wants to play with it!

My 2 1/2 yo girl is getting a jungle floor puzzle, a set of small plastic jungle animals, a matching game, a memory game, a set of Eric Carle books, and a wooden cookie w/ detachable frosting set. She will get some art supplies, doll accessories, a wallet and play doh in her stocking.

Grandparents are getting her Toy Story toys and possibly movie(s), portable DVD player for the car, a cheap digital camera, and I'm sure more that I don't know about!

Good luck and Merry Christmas!!

Fisher Price Little People are awesome! My 7 year old still plays with them.
Their is a house and pink castle girls love. But if she's also into animals, then the Noah's ark is great. Also the farm or A-Z zoo animal set.

My daughter was 2 years old at Christmas last year and I've always paid attention to what she really enjoys playing with and what seems to grab her attention the most. What does your daughter like to do?

Last year we did her get a play kitchen and I passed on to her my doll house from when I was a kid. She got a plastic toy tea set that she likes to play with once in a while. But she seems to enjoy things like blocks and other stuff she can build with more than anything else. We've gotten her wooden blocks in different shapes and sizes and the Duplo Legos. This year she wants the "Real Construction" toy set that consists of fake wood and toy tools for making different things. She also loves anything artistic - last year we got her an easel that has a white board on one side and a chalk board on the other, plus a roll of paper from the top. She can use it with chalk, crayons or paint. She also loves playing with Play-Doh. She would rather do those types of things than play with Barbies and other dolls!

My nearly 3 year old is getting the Toy Story 3 movie (which is all she has asked for), a cool kids camera, a doctor's kit, a doug & melissa cupcake decorating kit, a puzzle, some books, a pillow pet blanket (already has a pillow) and some stocking stuffers, deck of card, chapstick, etc. Not a lot but I know she will love all of it. OH, my parents bought my girls a used bounce house and my MIL got them a radio flyer wagon to ride around in (as much for mommy as for the girls!). I think that's it. My husband was role playing with her, pretending he was Santa (in order to prepare her for meeting the "real" Santa) and asked her what she wanted....she said Toy Story 3....you may try that with yours and just see what she says. =)

P.S. I agree with the play kitchen/foods....my daughter LOVES her play kitchen and accessories!

We have a Barbie power wheels jeep that we bought for our oldest dd 3rd birthday and we have replaced the wheels 3 X's. It has been driven tons over the last 6 years. Our younger dd is almost 3 year I'm thinking about getting a new one for her for x-mas or replacing the wheels again. We have a great neighborhood to ride around. She got a Loving family House for her 2nd Birthday and plays with that non-stop. They are almost as much as the Jeep. She says she would like a kitchen but there isn't room so she is getting a coffee pot, toaster, microwave-combo-pack. For more Imagination play it is baby doll, and Graco set that comes with stroller, pack and play, bouncy seat, and a baby doctors kit.
For educational toy we got my first computer. Then I got a game. I hit Toy r Us black friday and she was pretty much done.

Kitchens and play food are great for girls this age. Even just buying some cheap cooking utensils (wooden spoon, strainer, tongs) at a kitchen store can be really fun for them. Toys R Us has some good play food.
