I am looking for a waterpark or a good outdoor activity to do for my sons 3rd(& 1st) B-day party. I want this to be a special one that he will not forget even know I know he will. But can you help me find a location or something. His b-day is in June so thats why I was thinking about a waterpark but I am open for other ideas.

What can I do next?

Hi K.,

You didn't mention where you live, so I don't know if this will help or not. You might consider a sprayground. I think there are several around Dallas, but the one I know is near me in Lake Highlands. It's located at the Lake Highlands North Recreation Center on Church Road, not too far from Skillman Road.

It's free. There are also playground equipment and picnic tables.

Good luck finding something.

Sandy Lake park is a great place for a party. You can do the Birthday package with the pools included. Their pools are huge and only 2-3 feet deep. They also have a small amusement park that is specifically for small children. We are having my daughter's party there in two weeks...it's the third year in a row...birthday's 2,3 and now 4. We love it and it is affordable.

in garland there is a place called surf and swim. it is a wave pool. but the have a kids section that has stuff for like 5 and under my friend did her 2 year olds bday there and i took my 4 month old and he loved it. splashing in the water. it is good for all age groups. it is on o'banion and Oates about 7 min off of 635. very fun spot for the parents as well. they have tubes where you can float in the waves. great for teenagers.

The Colony has Hawaiian Falls though that may be a bit much for a bunch of 3 year olds.
Plano has Jack Carter Pool that has a wading area with a little play set in it. Depending on the size of the party you may be able to just use the facilities along with the rest of the public and just pay the $2 per person. Call Plano Parks & Rec. There were 3 life guards in the wading area.
Allen has Celebration Park which has a Spray Ground. There are picnic tables off to the side under some cover. I don't know about renting the pavilion. You'd have to call the city of Allen Parks & Rec.
McKinney also has a public pool with a beach type enterance so there's very shallow water to deeper water. There's a couple of slides for bigger kids/adults. It's in East McKinney, just east of HWY 5 (across HWY 5 from the court house). We attended a birthday party there for a 7 yo when my son was 3. I had to stay with him every minute. I think there were a couple of life guards.
Hope you find something fun for your son.
