Hi, I have been diagnosed with Lyme disease about a month back. I got a tick bite last Sep.and had developed a rash after that. 3 weeks of antibiotics got rid of the rash & fever but since then I had been experiencing some excruciating pains in different joints all over my body.Only 3 weeks back the disease got confirmed.Presently I am on 4 wk. dose of antibiotics.

Can anyone suggest an alternative remedy or home remedy for this disease, that otherwise stays forever in our system?

What can I do next?

Dear I.,
I went to a wholistic internist and he kept me on antibiotics for 4 months. There is not much else you can do for Lyme. His name is Martin Mulders, MD and his office is south west of Philadelphia. It is worth the trip if you are not feeling well.
Good luck,
A.

Last year I purchased a product called MMS (Miracle Mineral Solution) and it truly has been the best thing I have ever done for myself and my family. I have 3 kids and it seems like someone is always getting sick or has a cold of some sort. I have never been one to put my kids on antibiotics unless it's absolutely needed. Here is the link and you can read more about it and also order some if your interested...http://mmsmiracle.com/mjmj275 A small bottle is enough to last a family an entire year!! We currently use it to maintain good health, I did not purchase it to get rid of a particular disease or anything like that but I do have a friend who took it to get rid of tyfoid fever and she was very sick. If you do decide to give it a try, please read and follow all the directions and keep in mind that it may make you feel worse for a few days but that is good... when the MMS is riding your body of the disease, there is a chance it will make you feel really sick. Always remember, 'things always get worse before they get better' whatever you do, don't stop taking it!! If it makes you feel a little sick, try to bare through it cause it will get better... this stuff is truly amazing!! The scientist who created it, actually created it to cure people in Africa from malaria... check out the site and also view some of the youtube footage. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!!

Hi there,
So sorry to hear that you have Lyme. It is epidemic around here. I know that there has been lots of controversy about how long to treat with antibiotics. In fact some accupuncturist in my area don't even use antibiotics. I personally would recommend a detox cleanse to try to rid your body of the toxins. I know that the disease lives in your fat cells so the more you can get rid of the the better you will feel. Please message me if you are interested in learning about a safe, effective detox program that is gentle enough to do every 30 days. Hope all works out for you.

Take care,
M.

Dear I.,

The best thing you can do is educate yourself about Lyme. Try getting on the LymeNet online news. There are several Lyme societies and foundations that educate and keep up to date with the latest. I am an Acupuncturist who has also had Lyme. I use herbs that will support the immune system, and acupuncture which is also good for strengthening the immune system. You are right to be on antibiotics at this time, but you will need some guidance for a long-term plan. If you want more information you can contact me at The Maryland Center for Integrative Medicine- ###-###-####.

I understand your dillemma. S. Martin.

Hello! I emailed my friend whose mother recently struggled with so many terrible side effects from Lyme disease and the medications weren't treating the symptoms. My friend highly recommends Dr. Hart in Ashburn. (she is out of town so didn't have the number) He came highly recommended to her and her mother is doing amazingly well, it's fantastic.
I googled his name and I think this should be him?

And I also came across this:

I hope this helps along with all the other advice!! And I hope you feel better soon.

Hi, I., I'm so sorry to hear of your diagnosis; chronic pain can be so impactful! There is a supplement called Replenex, manufactured by Melaleuca, which is Glucosamine HCl (the highest form of Glucosamine available), partnered with three natural anti-inflammatories - ginger, bromaline, and green tea; $10 for a month supply. Also, Melaleuca's vitamins have been clinically proven to offer a higher absorption rate and the highest free radical reduction rate among all major brands tested. In other words, they are highly effective, and many will see a boost in their immune system, which could be a plus in your case. Wishing you all the best. N.

I have never heard of a home remedy for Lyme disease. If you look in one of those "Home Remedy" books you may find something. Did you ask your doctor about a home remedy for the joint pain? He would be the best person to ask. Best of luck to you.

Acupuncture should be great, but also very important is to boost your immune system so your body can use it's best natural defenses to combat the disease. If you would like specific recommendations for lyme disease, please research http://www.drraystrand.com

Dr. Strand is a specialist in nutritional medicine. I am already a member of his site and can send you a free specific recommendation for lyme disease if this is a route you would like to explore further.

I have been suffering with the symptoms from lyme disease for 8 years now.

I had brain fog, problems with concentration, trouble sleeping, stiff joints and no energy to speak of. I would fall asleep in the chair each night after dinner. This is 7 years later.

Being a lyme suffer for so long you will try anything. My doctor is a LLMD but there are only so many choices. I was done with the medicines, too many side effects.

I came across an all natural mineral supplement that has made a tremendous difference in my life. It helps alkalinize your system, and helps healing.

This product helped clear up these symptoms; I feel like it has given me my life back. My symptoms just slowly went away. I was too busy with life to notice.

You just add this teabag to your water and drink your water throughout the day. How easy is that!
www.drinkxoomawater.com

The results have been amazing. I have been on the water for almost a year now and can tell it is still detoxing my system.

Good luck to you
hope this information has helped

My daughter had Lyme disease and since you don't want to mess around with it, we certainly did the antibiotics. However, I also gave her herbal immune booster tablets for kids and tried to get her to eat yogurt and drink kombucha to help prevent the negative impact of antibiotics (the killing of the good bacteria in your digestive system). This worked for us. I use the book Green Pharmacy by Dr. Duke for herbal ideas. Hope you get better this time.

Hi - I just got over this myself. I was diagnosed at the end of July. I didn't even know I was bit. I had no external signs (reddness, rash, etc.) but just felt weird. My doctor ran some random tests and the Lyme Titer was one of them. Much to my complete shock and amazement, he called a few days later to tell me I had Lyme Disease! So I was on Doxycycline for 30 days - the ENTIRE MONTH OF AUGUST. No fun since one major side effect is sun sensitivity. So, I guess I don't really have an answer for you, I'm sorry. Good luck to you!

I believe that you are stuck. My daughter was diagnosed last fall and she has to go on an antibiotic regimine every time she gets bitten-and seeing that we live in the woods (literally-our beautiful home is on 146 secluded acres!!) she's been on it 3 times since then. Once you have been diagnosed, lyme disease will always be in your system, but not active. We use premithicyn (sp?) to repel, but that is also a prescription cream.

I would recommend going to Dr. Nader Soliman; he is a homeopathic physician (who also works as an anasthesiologist) located in Rockville, MD near Shady Grove Hospital. He helped my husband's boss, who had lyme disease for quite a few months before he was correctly diagnosed. My mother also goes to him for GI issues and has been very pleased with his care, after none of her traditional MD's were able to help her. I also know of several other accquaintances who swear by him for migraine relief and allergy relief. Unfortunately, most insurances do not cover homeopathic care, so it can be quite expensive, just to warn you! I think it is definitely worth it if nothing else is helping. His number is ###-###-####.

Lyme disease is a virus, not a bacteria so it's pretty useless to use anti-biotics and it lowers your natural defenses severely, not to mention that the virus and bacteria will mutate and overcome the anti-biotics. I've successfully rid myself of viruses of all types with Oregano, and Thieves essential oil. In my aromatherapy reference it recommends something called inner defense softgels which is a mix of oregano, thyme, thieves, and citronella essential oils in capsule form that you would take three times a day. I've taken them myself when I start to feel sick and nothing else is stronger and bacteria and viruses can't mutate against it since the compounds found in the plants are so complex. It also helps to restore the beneficial flora that has been killed off by the anti-biotics. The first time I took one capsule, I had such a massive die off of bacteria and viruses that I had some stomach upset, but after that I felt fine and can take as many capsules as I need to without any problem. My reference also states to use PanAway essential oil blend for the pain- I've also had great personal results with that as well. I would also recommend a high quality probiotic or eating yogurt and Kefir everyday to build yourself up. Due to the anti-biotics, you may have to put some effort into regaining your health, but I'm sure it can be done. Check out my website at www.thenaturalscience.net for more info on essential oils and how to order these precious gems.

I., I am so sorry you are dealing with Lyme’s disease as I’m sure it has been quite taxing on your physical and mental health. Acupuncture has a lot to offer you as you heal from Lyme’s disease, and I have seen several people's health improve with treatment at the acupuncture clinic where I work. More specifically, acupuncture helps by:
*Building your immune system, so that it can fight the bacteria more effectively
*Supporting your Liver, so that it isn’t weakened by the antibiotics
*Supporting the Liver, Spleen and Kidneys to more effectively get rid of the bacteria toxins
*Decreasing pain and swelling
*Increasing energy
*Increasing warmth (the bacteria tend to gravitate towards colder parts of the body, causing pain)
*Increasing blood circulation (the bacteria can not thrive in a highly oxygenated body)
*Creating more peace of mind, and a sense of ease and calm, which also will help with your healing

I would highly recommend that you look into it. Feel free to email me for more info and I can tell you more about my acupuncture services. Take Care!
