Hello Moms,
I am thinking about talking to some of the Lasik facilities in the area. Did anyone have a good or bad experience? I am a novice so all my research is over the internet. Any advise would be appreciated.

I went to Dr. Boothe in Plano 2 months ago. Had a great experience. No pain. Great vision. I wish I had done it a long time ago! My husband went to Key-Whitmann about 3 years ago. He also had a great experience there and has had no problems with his vision.

Good luck!

I went to Dr. Boothe in Plano a year ago and had lasik done. I had a good experience with all of the doctors and nurses. Dr. Boothe is very strict with his nurses and will not let them half do anything. Anytime you have any problems you are welcome back into their office to be checked over with no charge for up to 2 years. I am very satisfied with my eyes and am very glad that I had it done. Let me know if you have any questions about it. J.

A friend of my went to Boothe eye care center to have this done and it was a disaster. She said it was standing room only in the waiting room...the equipment did not fit her properly, but the rigged it so it did.

She came down with eye infections and her vision is now worse. The doctor has since also been evasive
and not wanting to help her address her BAD outcome.

I do know other people who have had successful procedures, but not at this place.

I just had Lasik on my eyes March 10th and I'm seeing just fine. Dr. Boothe did the surgery. He is very good. He does not have an outgoing personality, which threw me off when I met him, but I don't need him to be my best friend. He does alot of surgery, so it is a bit mechanical in the office, but they all are very nice and very practiced at what they do. There is a lot of eye drops regiment you must do for several weeks afterwards, and I didn't know that till I had it done. It's not a problem, just a surprise. You do need to follow the instructions though as I've heard people with problems are usually the ones that don't do the drops.

I used Dr. Boothe in December for my IntraLasik. I would not recommend him! I think they're a scam - they told me I have astigmatism, so they charged more. I've NEVER been told by any Dr. that I have astigmatism. I didn't even realize that until after the procedure was done. My result is great, I'm 20/15 in both eyes, but that office is like an assembly line and Dr. Boothe is the grumpiest person EVER. I even heard him explode at some guy working in there right before I went in.

My husband used Tylock for Restor Lens implants (for presbyopia)and as part of that procedure will go back for lasik refinement in a couple of weeks. He has been very satisfied with Dr. Tylock and his staff. My husband is a health care professional and was impressed with their professionalism.

Hi-

I had lasik done in December 2005 at TLC in Lewisville. I had been researching Lasik for 6 years now. I moved here to TX from IL and had been to about 6 different facilities in IL before I moved here and selected TLC there. They have nationwide offices so I checked out the one here in Lewisville and was as impressed here as I was in the Chicago area. I have seen some butchers!!! Be careful. Very careful. I got a good deal at TLC when I had my Lasik done. It cost me right under $2,000 for both eyes. I had received prices up to $4,500 for both eyes and as cheap as $900 for both eyes. If you want more info you can e-mail me directly at ____@____.com

My only advice would be to wait until you are sure that you are done having kids. I say this because I had lasik done 5 years ago and it was great until I had my daughter 9 months ago. My vision became blurry again and I'm back to wearing glasses. I can't even wear contacts now because the lasik changed the curvature of my eye so that the lenses don't fit on my eye properly. I had never heard of your eye sight changing from child birth, but since this has happened to me, I've heard all sorts of similar stories.
Best of luck!

Lasik is wonderful...one of the best things I ever did...that changed my life completely. My eyes were REALLY bad...-10 in one and -11 in the other...been in glasses since I was 2 yrs. old. This experience was definitely life-changing for me, fairly painless, and quick.
I went to Dr. Carter in Dallas. My husband had it done also...he went to Dr. Tylock in Irving. They were both really good.
I would highly recommend it. Just make sure you go to a reputable doctor...who's performed thousands of these surgeries. Good luck!

After doing some extensive research my husband and sister in law went to Clearview in Southlake. Both of them were very impressed with the staff, the doctors and are very happy to be able to see clearly now. I have gone there for a routine eye exam and was also very pleased. When my husband went he never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be called back and I had the same experience. We also never had to wait more than 5 minutes once we did go back. Clearview is on 114 just west of Kimball. Good luck with your decision.

I had Lasik done over 10 years ago and if given the chance, I'd have done it 10 years before that.... it has completely changed my life! The only word to the wise I'd recommend is NOT eating right before you go b/c they give you a pill to kind of make you drowsy and if you have a fully tummy, it won't take effect until afterwards... the results are immediate and fantastic and you will be forever grateful to yourself for having taken the step to free you from glasses and/or contacts. Should you have any questions, please do NOT hesitate to e-mail me.

My mother just got Lasik from Dr. Booth - she was not impressed at all. She did not like the "assembly line" way of getting way too many people through the process, the all felt like cattle..very impersonal [still having a few eye problems too]..I have noticed a new facility in Grapevine/Southlake that might be good [off 114 accross from Home Depot, can't remember the name]...good luck

C.,

My husband used Dr Tylock in Irving for his surgery, which was done in Nov 05. He's thrilled with the results. We've also had several friends that have used Tylock and they've been equally pleased.

When I was researching who my husband should use I got good feedback on Tylock and Carter, but got adamantly negative feedback on Boothe.

Good luck in your search!
