Any Good Veterinarians near McKinney

I am very picky about vets. When my 15 yr old cat wound up in the cat hospital because he was diabetic I was referred to http://www.mckinneyanimalhospital.com/bloomer.html. It's on on Eldorado in McKinney. All the vets are wonderful. Dr. Bloomer understood that I would do whatever I had to for my cat. He talked to me like a good doctor talks to you when YOU are at the doctor. He explained things. He didn't act like it was just an animal and he CARED. They even sent a sympathy card when they found out he died later. I have a vet literally walking distance from my house and I will still drive to Dr. Bloomers office.

We live in Prosper with a vet 2 blocks away but I got to Princeton. Vanessa and her staff are very caring. I tried the other vet becuase of convenience and went back to Princeton. My little dog does not like to many people. First time visit Vanessa picked her up whispered to her and she has been fine ever since. I know sounds corney, but she is great with the animals. AND a plus, I have found her to be some what a little cheaper. Down side, she does not take appointments so you always have to wait unless you are first in line. Check her hours out. Good LUCK!

I take both my cats to the Cat Hospital of Collin County which deals only with cats. It's much more relaxing for cats not having dogs (I love them too!) barking in the waiting room. Yes, we take our 2 dogs & 2 cats to see Dr. Taylor. He's great, they are always very nice to the animals and the owners. I've never had any issues in the 10 years we've been with him. Also we adopted a feral kitten from them. Someone found a pregnant mama feral cat and kindly rescued the kittens. Dr. Taylor and his staff took care of the kittens from practically birth until they were ready to be adopted out 6-8 weeks later. Our kitten has grown up into a darling kitty, part of the bunch. I beg you to reconsider doing this to your precious kitty. please do some research first, there are humane options. check out: http://www.declawing.com or just Google "declawing cats" and be sure you make an informed decision. It's not a simple matter of cutting nails, it's amputation and involves painful recovery time and life long side effects.

This has got to be my favorite vet of all time. They come to the house for most of the things that we need done. We have 3 large dogs, so it is so nice that they come to the house. We've been going to Highlands-Eldorado Veterinary Hospital since we moved here in 2000. Dr. Taylor is very compassionate and helped us through a lot of difficult times with our pets. His whole staff is friendly too.

King Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Robert Means and Dr. Dana Means. Husband and wife team. They are sooooo sweet I love them. They, and their staff just loves on my kitties each time I go in like they are their own animals. I've talked with them about declawing my cat too. They are concerned about her comfort and recovery time mostly. I think the cost is around $200. Their number is ###-###-####, www.kingvet.com. Their clinic isn't a new fancy one, and I'm fine with that. Now I don't feel I'm being overcharged to pay for a building. They have a ton of animals themselves, some that even live in the clinic.
