For those of you who have been or know someone who has been diagnosed with PCOS I have a question. My doctor says I have some symptoms that are consistent with PCOS. I had to use Clomid to get pregnant with my daughter as it appeared I was ovulating too late in my cycle. Since that time they also discovered that I have a slight bicornuate uterus. My husband and I would like to try for another baby in the next 6 months of so and I have a lot of things that could be working aganist me. I have read that taking things like Fish Oil can help with PCOS. Has anyone tried it and has it worked? I also read about something else that starts with a D but I can't remember what it was. I am so thankful that I do have my daughter and we will just see if the Lord sees fit to give us another miracle. Thanks for all your help! (Oh and I am not overweight so losing weight would not help!)

What can I do next?

I have had PCOS since I was a teenager. I am now 31 years old and 29 weeks pregnant with my first child. I didn't need any medication. I have been on a south-beach type diet for a few years and that seems to have regulated my cycle. I wish you good luck!

I have PCOS and after three years of Infertility treatment tried Accupuncture and got pregnant. I was very skeptical of it and thought if a "real doctor" could not get pregnant I was wasting my time with the Accupuncture but sure enough one treatment and I was pregnant! It is worth a try. Good luck to you!

I work with a great Nutritional Supplement Company that is safe and effective. Preganant women take the supplements for their prenatal vitamin. I will be happy to connect you with other women who had great result and share more details with you if you are interested.

Let me know if you are interested. Wishing you all the best and God's Blessings.

I was diagonosed with PCOS before my son was born. I was put on Metformin and took Clomid to help me conceive. I've heard reports that this combination has really helped many women. Metformin is difficult, as you will have to get on a special diet, like South Beach.

Good luck!

I have PCOS and with my second son, I got pregnant without anything more than regular exercise (walking 3x a week), an ovulation prediction kit and within 2 months of being off the pill. I did take prenatal vitamins as well. I had been told that sometimes when going off birth control pills your cycle is still fairly regulated and it can be easier to get pregnant.

I have a friend that has the same diagnosis as you. She has PCOS and a mis-shaped uterus. She has a son that is 10, a daughter 4 and 2 all by c-section. The only thing that she did was change her diet to a more organic and raw, cut out processed foods. And of course prayer. I had a read a story in a South Beach Diet Book of a girl that had PCOS and by following the diet she was able to conceive. Again, eating food in a more natural state. Not sure how true the story is, but you can look further into that one.
My prayers are with you.

I have PCOS and there is nothing odd about ovulating late in your cycle with PCOS....I ovulated CD31 for both of my children and used ovulation predictor kits. Instead of the 2 week wait(luteal phase), it's the 4 week wait (follicular phase)to ovulate...obviously worth the wait. I tried Clomid once, but it didn't make me ovulate any sooner than day 31 and I didn't want to increase the dosage. I have a book about Infertility and PCOS and the natural diet...but I couldn't stick to it--way too complicated and not convenient with 2 kids. Good luck :)

One of the best natural treatments for PCOS is to lose weight. It may take some time, but it can be done and once you lose the weight this should help regulate your cycles. Good luck!!
