Anyone Delete Their Facebook?

I decided to delete my Facebook account and found that it isn't easy. I had to go through an article that had a direct link to actually delete my account. I then read the article...LOL You can deactivate it easy enough but all my photos and posts are still stored. But to actually delete the account is harder and still takes up to 14 days. I was wondering if there was anyone else who actually deleted their Facebook. Not deactivate it but totally delete it permanently.

What can I do next?

You have to delete all of your pictures one by one, manually. (I learned this from watching a news story about people who wanted to get rid of FB).

Yes, it will take a VERY long time to do it, but it is the only way, otherwise FB just saves it all in their server indefinitely. They did that intentionally to keep people from totally giving it up.

Never started one to begin with, and this further enforces not starting one.

Yes. I had to write directly to facebook and request they permanently delete it. Then, it took another 2 weeks. I don't remember how I wrote them, my husband figured out all that for me.

If it is so hard to delete it, why not just remove all of your pictures and posts and just let it be and not log in anymore? Just a thought!

No way.. I even have a special Austin page with over 4000 fans.. It gets over 200,000 views a month. We have a blast sharing memories.

Our daughter is out of state for college so it is a great way for us to share all of the stuff we would be sharing here at home.

Plus, I have almost all of my family on there and my high school friends and then moms I have become friends with,, Good grief.. It is too important in my contacts to close it down.

I did....but to start another one......

My account quickly became cluttered with family, and kids..My oldest is 16. And I'm a pretty cool mom LOL. BUT in the meantime, these boys forgot that I can see all of their posts (they friend requested me) and some of this stuff, I DID NOT want to read.

Then came the issue of my in-laws<<<SIGH>>>

I am a SAHM. And honestly my only social outlet 99% of the time, sadly is facebook. So I really don't care to hear my MIL bring up EVERY post me or my friends make at EVERY family function!! SERIOUSLY????
Just because you see it, and obviously you STALK my account because you see EVERYTHING, doesn't mean I need to discuss it with you!
AAAAHHHH
So long story short, I started a new page. No KIDS, NO FAMILY......
MYOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Much nicer now :)
