I am looking for a GYN-ONCOLOGIST that will perform surgery at Lee's Summit medical center. Does anyone know of one?

Thank you for all your responses, I too, have been going to AWC since 1999. I was seeing Dr. Glover (she left), then I started seeing Dr. Doan (because she was on call the morning I delivered my twins), and now I see Dr. Woods and I love her...all of them. BUT, I am trying to find a GYN-ONCOLOGIST that can assist Dr. Woods with a surgery (they have to have priveledges at Lee's Summit Medical Center).

What can I do next?

Dr. Capelli is my ob-gyn and he does surgeries at St.Joesph on state line. He does have an office in Lee's summit off of 3rd street right in front the quick trip. Ob-gyn consultants, I believe he is in that office on Mondays and Thursdays. I wanna say that he has privleges at Lee's Summit Hospital but I'm not sure, if he doesn't and you are able to go to St. Joesph they are an excellent hospital and I'm pretty strick on hospital staff and customer service and that's because I'm a nurse myself and I treat patients with care and expect the same thing in return. Give him call and see, I only have his state line office number but you can get the lee's summit number from them or just talk to him from there ###-###-####. Good luck and God Bless.

Funny- I have seen both doctors.

I would absolutely, hands-down recommend anyone at Associated Women's Care. I personally see Dr. Leverett right now but have been so, so happy with everyone that I've seen there. The nurses and all the staff are exceptional and overly caring and concerned with each patient. Their LS office is beautiful, too.

While I liked Dr. Capelli's personality, I did NOT care for his office staff. When I originally went to their office after getting pregnant with our second, I called their billing office to see how they did it. They told me that everything was billed at the end of delivery. This included delivery charges, sonograms, etc. At the beginning of January I get a statement for something (a sonogram I believe). I called their billing office again about it and they told me that effective January 1, 2008, they would be billing as the service was performed. (I personally felt that was fine but that should be for new patients in 2008- not established ones.) So, I call the nurse back at the office and ask her what's going to be the case with my progesterone injections- do I pay for them weekly or what? Well...she told me I had to pay for them weekly, and even after insurance paid their part, it was $75/week (and I had to do them for 17 weeks). I can't afford that! I told her that I could make monthly payments and then told her how much (which was a decent amount and would have any balance paid by delivery) and she laughed at me. She literally laughed at me. Then she told me I'd have to find a new doctor...So that kind of sent me over the edge. I hung up and got back on with Dr. Leverett at AWC and have been seeing her ever since. (Dr. Leverett delivered my first but because we were living in Overland Park at the time, I wanted someone closer- that's the ONLY reason why I saw Dr. Capelli.)

Dr. Fredrick Lintecum is who delivered my general doctor's 8 kids and my son as well. That would be a great place to start - I know they have a Lee's Summit office.
