Are You or Your Kids Getting Hit with This Stomach Virus This Year?

I have been dealing with this "stomach bug" since monday. I went to the hospital yesterday for some minor dehydration because I could barely keep down water. Well, today I woke up (feeling a lot better) but now I feel like my throat is burning. I think I have heartburn. I'm not sure if it's because I'm actually keeping liquids down or from the medicine I'm on to help with everything.

Any moms going through this right now? It's miserable!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks, everyone! Not that I enjoy anyone elses misery with this darn bug but I feel better knowing that I'm not the only one dealing with this. My husband is a teacher and it seems like the kids just got it for a couple days and it was done. I'm not used to having a bug this long. It's been a tough one. If you haven't gotten it, please protect yourself. Lysol things, wash your hands, do whatever you can! I wouldn't want anyone else to go through this.

Yep! My son had it Fri and I started with the vomiting yesterday. I feel better today although I have an awful headache that I can't shake. I really hope you get better soon! It is hard to stay hydrated isn't it? I always go for my son's pedialyte pops... Kinda yucky, but they get the job done!

We had it around Christmas and New Years, each kiddo only had it for a day though, BUT I beefed up their nutritional supplements and they get adjusted daily from their daddy so that really helped. Other patients in our practice have had the bug, pediatricians have said it's lasting 7-10 days, in our office we're seeing 1-3 days though.

Yup we had some stomach bug that made its rounds in our house, right after Thanksgiving. Then again, this is the first year my kids have been in a nursery/preschool setting. Hit my 15 month old first--3 days later my 3 yr old--24hrs later my hubby-- and then I got it a couple days after.

It was horrible, not so much the throwing up, but the day after was the worst. I had this god awful headache and my body just ached to the bone. I had to call the hubby to come home and watch the kiddos. I just couldn't do it. Luckily it didn't seem to hit the kids that hard. And as it seemed to have only lasted 24-48hrs between each of us.

Good Luck I hope you feel better soon!

We got hit with it in my house, but we didn't have it to the extent you're talking about.

Acid reflux would certainly burn the throat. Maalox is what usually helps me with that. Either that or Mylanta.

We did around new years. I mean kids did, and lasted one day, they only threw up 3 times each, and had loose stools but I immediately got the rice, bananas, applesauce thing going. We ate boiled rice, bananas and applesauce with crackers for 2 days just to make sure. I also cleaned everything top to bottom round the clocki for 48 hrs. Knock on wood hubby and I didn't get it. But I hear a lot of kids in my kids' school have been hit with i lasting over a week.
Also to one who said we got the flu shot, please know stomach flu has nothing to do with the flu.

Yes! We've already had it hit my house 3 times that I care to remember. Once my DD had it for 5 days and then my son and I got hit hard.
Then it went from him to her. And this last time her. Lasted less than 24 hours and no fever.
Good Luck!

My son had it at the end of Oct. and spent a day and night in the hospital due to dehydration. He's 6 and we couldn't keep anything in him. After the 24 hours in the hospital, he was back to his old self in a day. No one else got it.
