Infant Baby Monitor - Golden, CO

Anyone bought a baby monitor recently that they LOVE? I have a 2 year old who sleeps on a different floor than my husband and me and we've used a Graco monitor since she was a baby. It's ok, but the battery life is terrible. I am expecting another child in early September so am considering either another separate monitor or a new monitor all together with two different transmitters that go to the same receiver. Would love some suggestions, as wading through all the reviews is making my head spin!

We have the Fisher Price monitor that comes with two recievers and a base. It is wonderful! And we have found that as long as different channels are used (it offers 10), you can use multiple bases in the same house. Good luck!!

We used the BeBe Sounds monitor, it comes with a sensor to put under the crib mattress that detects movement.. sensitive enough to detect breathing. It made our hearts calmer knowing we'd be alerted if he stopped breathing, also the sound quality was great.

We love our Sony Baby Call moniter! It is the only one out there I have found that has the voice activated setting, meaning you don't have to listen to the static, it only activates when there is a noise in the room. We use a sound machine in the nursery and sometimes even a mellow CD. Somehow it differentiates between those sounds and our child and only turns on when our child calls out. It rocks! We have been using this moniter for the past 2 years and have had no problems with battery life. We usually plug it in when we bring it to our bedroom at night, but it can easily go days without a charge. If you're not into spending a lot on the video moniter mentioned on previous posts, I would highly recommend the Sony!

Not sure if this will help you or not. Depends on where you do your shopping, but I do all mine at Walmart, for the most part. Before I buy for my kids, like toys, monitors, and such, I go to www.walmart.com, find what I'm looking for, and read what other people say about that item. And I go from there, it has been very helpful. As I have three kids, and my husband says, you know what they need, so its all up to you. I wish you luck.

Ous son is a year old & we've had our video monitor (by Summer) since he was about a month old. We LOVE IT! He's a talker (in his sleep), so it's nice to be able to see what's going on without actually having to go into the room (and risk waking him up). I've also seen now where they have the dual monitoring system. They ARE a bit pricey.....but worth every penny!

We got a Graco ivibe. I love it, it was under 100.00 and had low to no interferance (we have a small house, but lots and lots of electronics that caused static and other problems with most monitors under 100.00 that we tried) I also love the vibe function if I'm trying to mow the lawn etc.

I am in the same boat. I am looking for a two room monitor (one for toddler and one for a new baby). The only one I've managed to find is by Graco. I think it runs about $180 (no video--I am only interested in sound anyway).

I agree with Angela! We have the Summer video monitor and it is a life saver! We have had it since our daughter was born. The great thing is, is that we can see her and her habits. We won't rush in at any sound that would disturb her sleep. We can tell if she is just fussing a little and will go back to sleep, or if she needs us. She is 3 months old today, breast fed only, and has been sleeping 9 to 11 hours through the night for 3 weeks now. I attribute a lot of that to the monitor. We have even been able to put her down awake and watch the monitor to see how long it takes for her to fall asleep by herself. Granted, I think she is an easy baby, but if it wasn't for the monitor, I would be in there way too often disturbing her natural sleep habits.
