i need a grand door prize for the baby shower. i want to do a basket but am butting heads with my mom about it. she says make it practical for everyone but its hard because a 26 yr old is not going to use the same thing as an 88 yr old woman..i dont want to do a spa or pasta basket (the pasta basket was just done by another person)..any suggestions?? thanks!!

What can I do next?

I make baskets as a crafts fair business.

A really popular basket is just coffee and tea with a set of cups, honey, spoons and a honey dipper.

Another one is breakfast in a basket, pancake mix, bacon that is microwavble, honey, syrup, biscuit mix, gravy mix etc with a small frying pan and spatula.

Hope this helps.

1 or 2 month NetFlix gift subscription with popcorn, sodas and candy. Or candles. Chocolate also usually goes over well.

Instead of a spa basket, how about a bath basket?

Get a plush towel, washcloth, bath fuzzies, candles, chocolates...

Instead of a basket buy a gift card for the amount you would spend on the basket to a nice restaurant or to the movies. Good luck

Wow, never even knew there was a need for a door prize! First I've heard of it. Anyway, one idea is to do a breakfast basket -- fill it with coffee, tea, scones, interesting pancake mix, etc. Just about everyone would enjoy that.

There are some things that woman of all ages use, and if the basket includes something the winner doesn't use, they can always regift it! I would include some personal care items, i.e. shave gel, lip balm, hand cream, then maybe some note cards or stationary, a book or gift certificate to a book store, movie passes, gift certificate to Panera.....I hope these ideas help; not sure what your budget is. Good luck.

You can do a movie basket. Provide a bowl for popcorn, some popcorn, candy, soda, and a gift certificate to a local movie store or theater.

You can do a coffee/tea basket with cups, different types of coffee's and tea's, and a gift certificate to Starbucks or Panera or something.

You can do a Tastefully Simple basket with different dips and bread mixes.

There are lots of great ideas out there!! Good luck :).

Do a small houseplant, with pink or blue blooms, then add a couple gift certificates to some generic places that everyone uses, such as Macy's, or a popular local restaurant. Those who don't want the certificates can regift them later without anyone the wiser.

I would go to Great Harvest (Bread company) I'm pretty sure they do baskets. They have the BEST breads, scones, muffins (and mixes to make a lot of that stuff) Everyone I know loves that place!

Mary Kay! Everyone can use a little Satin Hands and Satin Lips pampering sets! You could really have fun with a theme here... "Make your hands as soft as the little baby's bum!" and "Be sure your lips are kissably soft just in time for the baby!" We have some great lip glosses and lotions with nice sublte frangrances... Oh, I would love to put a basket together for you. I see you are in Chantilly... I'm in Centreville and would love to meet with you to decide on the contents, and I'll wrap up a beautiful basket for you by tonight if you need it. I never charge for gift wrap, and we can talk about a discount as well! Give me a call or email!
