The best place to go, and for sure the only place I would recommend is called Premier Interiors in St. Charles. I know you wanted something in plainfield, but let me tell you, you will for sure feel differently once you've discovered this place. It is all name brand furniture before mark up price! It is a family owned business and they mainly sell their products to newly constructed homes that they stage with their furniture in order to sell. We have furnished our entire house from them and have saved thousands of dollars. We just ordered our son's furniture as we are preparing him to move into his "big boy room" after he turns 3 next month. I know that they also sell baby furniture sets. Everything they sell is high end quality and name brand(no pressed board stuff.) Their information is: Premier Interiors 619 W Main St St Charles, IL###-###-####. What they don't have in stock you can order from their catalogs. They deliver and set up at a real reasonable fee. Good luck and have fun!

Check out freecycle.com and put in your zip code (or a ritzy one you don't mind driving to like Naperville). You can search for listings, or put up your own. It may bot be perfect, but a coat of paint would make it white and fresh! This is how a friend got 3 free cribs for her triplets, and then painted them all to 'match' and they were really cute!

Once Upon a Child (Crest Hill and Orland Park) often has stuff, as well. Another good place to look is Ebay, and Craig's List for 'local pickup only' for a bargain.

I recently seen a white dresser and white crib combo on Naperville yard sales. Its a great website to find bargains for clothes,furnitue, and everything else you can think of.

We got our daughter's big girl bed at Once Upon a Child in Crest Hill for very little money. It's kind of hit or miss like any other used/pre-owned store but generally their prices are good and they have both new and used stuff.
