Bedroom Furniture Question

I have seen and admired bedroom furniture of all types--the only important thing is that it works for you and that YOU like how it looks.
Nothing wrong with giving older furniture new life. Quality "wood", well-constructed furniture (that used to be the norm) is now #1)Hard to find and #2) ridiculously expensive.
I currently have furniture that is all across the board. I have spare bedroom furniture from a 100+ year old farm house that has been re-painted several times (solid green oak, and sturdy as cement). I would NEVER give that up!

A also have some Canadian made cherry wood furniture in the master that was new 14 years ago, but very pricey.

It all depends on what you like and want.
As for the matching-factor, I wouldn't worry about that--I think it looks cute!

Second hand stores like Good Will and/or Salvation Army can be great places to find furniture. Other options may be Craigs list or Ebay and of course yard sales and flea markets.

You will need to look around to find what you are looking for. The scale of the furniture may matter to you. It matters to me. Some nursery sized furniture won't work with the furniture I already have so it wouldn't be an option for me but that doesn't mean it won't work for you.

I've had quite a few Ikea pieces and they do hold up very well. Don't be so fast to rule them out as an option. Their furniture is affordable but you do have to put it together. They do offer an option with a nominal costs of having them put it together. I'm more of the hands on type. I hope this helps.

I don't think furniture necessarily has to match, what's important is that it works for you. If you're concerned about pieces being different colors or different finishes, you can always paint or sand and refinish to make them match (especially if you're buying used pieces).

Estate Sales! I had to sell my mom's solid mahogany canopy, chest on chest and dressing table for under 1K....with side tables.....gorgeous but I had no room....solid and already been around 80 years....good luck!
