Sometimes when the pH is out of whack, a baking soda bath helps, try that first. About a cup of baking soda in 4-6 inches of water, swish it all around the area, stay in for a bout 15 minutes, dry off but don't rub the area. If you can wear a skirt and go without underwear today, do that too.

Do you have anything like a witch hazel/tucks/prep H wipe? Sometimes that is all it takes for me to lose the itchy. It is like there is some irritant and a moist wipe can just clear it away. If you think it is dryness, try some K-Y jelly and see if that helps.

Vaginal/vulvular itching is fairly common among women. It can be a symptom of a minor or a major issue, but you'll never know unless you are examined by your doctor. Doctors see all kinds of things - including itchy vulvas - all the time, so they're totally used to it. If you're too embarrassed to see your family doctor, you can always go to your ob/gyn. If you don't go there, you can go to a public clinic like Planned Parenthood. It could be simple itching, BV, or an STD - and a professional can diagnose what the issue is. Don't just go slapping creams or lotions on there without knowing the source.

Bottom line - go to the doctor.

have you tried a new soap recently? Or did your regular soap change formula and add a 'fresh new scent' or something?

Could it possibly be a yeast infection? I used to get them all the time due to untreated diabetes, and the only symptom I had was constant itching (no smell, discharge etc - similar to what you describe). There are over the counter medications you could try, but unfortunately the only thing to wipe it out completely would be a prescription medicine. You may have to bite the bullet and go see your doctor. Good luck!

Find an ob/gyn and if you already have one go to him/her. Since you have 3 kids who did you go see during your pregancy, I would go back to them because it could be something simple/mild or it could be a something more that needs a perscription. Personally I would hold off on the "relations" with your bf till the itching is taking care of because it may be something you can pass along and that would be more embarassing then seeing the doctor.

I have experianced itchiness in that area before but usually within a few hours it is gone. I do get dry skin in the fall and winter which is when it usually happens. When I feel itchy I do not have relations with my husband and if the itchiness last longer then a few hours then I would at least call the doctor.

I feel your itchyness but it needs to be checked out could be overly cleaning your area, skin allergy to a knew soap or detergent or fabric softner, yeast infection, bacterial vagonosis or an STD all these can occur without the discharge or foul smells I would ask to be tested regardless if your unable to look at him in the face again later all these have a specific treatment....

I am the same way with my Doctor. I'm very shy around him because he's very cute! But he's also been seeing patients for over 15 years so he's used to seeing vag's with different problems :). We just had baby number 3 and because of the meds i received in the hospital I got a yeast infection. It's very emberassing going to see him for that but it has to be taken care of. Call the office and let them know what you are feeling and ask if they can call in a med. There's a one day pill that you take it works in 24 hours and I love it. You don't have to worry about those nasty creams. Make sure you are wearing a panty liner and change it every two hours to keep the fungus from growing. Also, if you're really that emberassed to see him then buy vagisil that helps a lot too. But an untreated infection can cause a lot of problems. I had one about a year or so ago and I didn't treat it right. I ended up having to get a shot that hurt like hell and taking three different antibiotics because it got so bad. So take care of it. And don't have sex you will pass it on to him and that's more emberassing.

Well not to be gross but is it the inside or outside that is itchy. I get itchy (inside) sometimes. Mine is from lack of natural dishcharge (just your normal amount of natural lubricant your body produces) after having a baby (although it's finially back to normal). Simply put I am just to dry and skin rubbing together makes me itchy. I put a few drops of lubricant on my finger, apply it to the area, and I am good to go.
If it's the outside, mine is usually due to either needing to manicue that area, or just manicuring that area. My skin is sensitive so and sometimes gets inflammed from waxing/shaving. Those are just a few ideas. Instead of seeing a family dr, I would find an OBGYN just for you. I never liked seeing my family dr for female problems. Good Luck!

I've gotten yeast infections in the skin - no discharge - and they are killers. Bet that's it. DON'T just take diflucan if that's what's prescribed - be sure to use over the counter cream too because diflucan might actually make the skin infection worse.

Sorry you're experiencing this.

How recently after the baby did this start? It could be a lack of estrogen, in which case, your Ob/gyn is the best person to see, especially if you are uncomfortable with your family dr. If you are that uncomfortable with the family dr. you have the right to find another dr.! Ask your friends for recommendations, or ask your ob/gyn for recommendations. You could have a bacterial infection or a yeast infection, so definitely go the dr. before trying anything OTC.

Its probably your soap or your laundry detergent... I would mix some vinegar with water and just sort of bathe the area... outside parts only... and see if that helps. If not, you may as well go to the doc or by an oc vaginal itch cream.
Probably shouldnt have sex just in case it is something transmittable.

Sounds like a yeast infection - there are OTC medications that include the pill and also have an anti-itch cream. I would suggest to bypass the evening activities - it won't make it feel better. You're both adults and can defer gratification.

Try good old fashioned yogurt! Sometimes the stomach flora gets out of whack and the yeast or other bad bacteria takes over and causes itching down there. Yogurt has acidophilus which can bring control back to the good bacteria. Or you could just go to a health food store and buy some probiotics including acidphilus. Try some of the natural remedies before going to your doctor since you're so embarrassed about it. Good luck!

You can try an over-the-counter yeast ointment for vaginal yeast infections. You probably need to do it a week or two at this point. If you have a sexual partner, he should use it too for a few days because it can be passed back and forth. Best if you're abstaining right now, though, till you get this resolved. If it continues with this treatment, you can have it cultured by an obstetrician. It could be something worse so you should have it checked if the over-the-counter ointment doesn't cure it in a reasonable time.

I'd go to an OB/GYN, female preferably. They are the experts in this area, not an FP.

find a nice woman ob/gyn or nurse prac and go to her for female things. i know what you mean. i never had any issues about who did my ladybits exams until....well, one day i just did. our lovely kind muslim family doc is still the family doc, but i wanted a gal doing the nether regions.
it could be an infection but often dryness will cause itchiness. you might just need a feminine moisturizer like honeygirl, or even a dab of honey or olive oil to tide you over until you get checked out.
if you are planning on fun tonight, i suggest the honey.

This same thing was happening to me. It was my tampons and pads. I had to change fragrant free. Which i normally bought, but got a big box of deodorized mini pads. It took a while for me to figure out that was the problem, so glad I did. Good luck.
