Dont know where you're at..but Yorktown Mall is the best! They have a nice indoor play area. It's in Lombard/Downers Grove area. It on 22nd street a few miles west of Oakbrook Mall (which is an outdoor mall). Great stores too!

I really enjoy West Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills. They have a large indoor playground (next to a Gymboree as well). The family lounge is next to the play area and is the nicest I have been in. It is spacious, always clean, and has several private areas to breast feed in.

I think that Yorktown by Oakbrook is a great indoor mall. It has pretty much everything you need. THey have an indoor train and play area. It is not too big and not too small. I live close to Northbrook court that has a tree house area but the auqustics (sound) are horrible I think. SO I would rather drive to Yorktown then go to NBC.

The best indoor mall I have been to for kids is Fox Valley. They have a huge indoor playground and a big ferris wheel.

Northbrook Court--you can even go in early before the stores open to let your kids play in the children's areas.

I believe you are in Lincolnwood, if I remember from other posts. My kids love the play area at Golf Mill. The downside there is that it isn't gated off...the entrance is open, though there is only one entrance. It has low and high things to climb on so it is good for all young ages.

Northbrook Court has a decent gated treehouse, but I find it gets quite busy there!

If you want to go even further, Hawthorne Mall in Vernon Hills has a fun castle play area.

Some indoor malls in the area are Northbrook Court on Lake Cook Road. It has an tree house for the kids to play on. Then there is Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills on Rte 60. There is a castle inside for the kids to run around in. It has a slide and some other parts for the kids to play on. We usually go to both these malls during the winter months. I hope this helps. Take Care. - E.

Randhurst has a nice, simple, unique play area. It consists of soft, "foamlike" structures that kids can crawl on, jump on, etc. It is surrounded by a 4 foot high wall and has a spongy floor - no shoes allowed. There are activities on the walls also. Right outside these walls are coin operated rides (like the horses you sometimes see outside grocery stores) but my kids have fun getting in and out even without the rides being activated. It is one of the few places I can take my 4 small children and keep a decent eye on them all at once. Also, Randhurst is always far less crowded than other malls. Oh yeah...there's also a real carousel (which I am not able to take advantage of...can you imagine trying to keep 4 kids on those horses? :) )

Randhurst is in Mount Prospect, by the way.
