Hi - looking for short-sleeved nursing tops but don't really like the pull-aside ones from Motherwear that I ordered. Any faves out there?
Thanks!

What can I do next?

When things got under control enough that I knew I wouldn't be leaking milk everywhere, I really liked the tank tops with the built in bra. Very stretchy and comfortable. You can find them in tons of colors. Super convenient...pull out breast, apply baby, pop breast back in:)!

I always just liked to wear Tshirts and just pull up the bottom to nurse. It's actually very discreet and baby and blanket hide everything. Not to mention cheaper!

I often wore Target's Gillian OMalley tank tops (the nursing ones) under regular shirts. Anything that you can lift or shift will give you the coverage you want and the access you need. I did buy one dress for a wedding, though, from Majamas (I think that was the site).

I like the nursing tank tops (Target has them, so do a lot of other places). I tend to wear them under cute short sleeve button-up shirts. That way I can unbutton the shirt (or just wear it unbuttoned like a little jacket) and the nursing tank top is underneath with easy access for nursing. I also wear them under t-shirts, because then I can pull the t-shirt up and the tank top still covers my tummy so I don't have belly hanging out while I'm nursing.

I also like the nursing shirts that have 2 layers - one on top that you pull up, and one underneath that stays down and pulls to the side. Works basically the same way as wearing the nursing tank under the t-shirt.

So far I have always just worn a regular shirt, that can pull up easily and then when I nurse I put on a LOW cut button up short (for the summer I have a 3/4 sleeve one) and then pull the under shirt up to nurse. No one can see anything! during the winter I had some long sleeve low cut shirts to do this with.

Over 10 years and 3 kids later I have owned a total of 2 nursing shirts bought right after my first. I hated them! I've tried ones on several times after from a number of companies and still don't like them. I'm larger breasted (36DD/E) and I found that those "discreet" slits would pull open or not lie right when carrying my baby, my purse or anything else for that matter. There was just to many layers of material around my breast. I would have to buy bigger and then it hung like a sack down the rest of my torso.
A nice nursing bra and shirts I can lift from the bottom is all I've needed or wanted. I nurse in public all the time and people don't even know I'm nursing the majority of the time, even when my kids have been older (I've extended nursed my first 2 and plan to for my third that's almost 24 months old). I've been able to nurse them while on the go in the sling with just the nursing bra and lifting my shirt up just enough for them to get to my breast. Never used a blanket or cover and I've not flashed the world doing it.

I have nursed 4 children and have owned 2 nursing items. 1 was a nice dress for my graduation and another was a nice blouse to wear to interviews so I could easily nurse right before and after.

I much prefer to wear a loose or stretchy top and I made a tummy cover by stitching an old tank top into a tube top with elastic that I wear to cover my belly.

This may sound odd, but I got great use out of those long, ribbed tank tops that you can buy at gap and old navy etc. First they covered any "bits" that my old, pre-pregnancy t-shirts weren't covering (which meant I could wear them again) and secondly - they were really handy for feeding. I'd pull the t-shirt up on one side and have the tank top beneath (slightly pulled down) - and it worked great! Also saved me buying a bunch of nursing tops I didn't really like or need and I could wear my old stuff (which I did like!). Just a suggestion.....

I just used a sports bra... for nursing.
SO much easier.
Used it under my clothing.

I had nursing tops, from Motherhood Maternity.
After awhile, I just used good ol' sports bras. In different colors.
Under my tops.
And with a nursing pad, inserted into the sports bra.
it was fine.

I bought the Bravado nursing tanks and absolutely love them. You can order them online or find them at some lingerie stores in the area (Lady Grace). They are a bit pricey but worth every penny! Good luck!

I liked the Glamourmom long nursing tanks. Then I normally just wore normal shirts over them and just pulled them up when I needed to. I ordered the tanks online, but check if they sell them at any specialty stores near you so that you can try them on & get the right fit & avoid shipping fees.

Last summer I bout a couple tanks that pulled down. I was at the football field everyday to these were nice..I had a lot of little girls try to peak under my nursing apron to see the baby..lol and I didn't always want my fat belly hanging out. But I never bought nursing tops I just pulled up my shirt I didn't want to spend the money.

After many years of nursing, the short supply of decent nursing tops got me thinking creatively. My best suggestion is to use a pregnancy Bella Band under whatever to you like. They are inexpensive, come in a ton of colors, and a lot of us already have them from our pregnancy. Put it on under your top and you look layered; you can pull your shirt up without exposing your belly! You can do the same thing by layering with a nursing tank, but I like being able to wear a better bra.
