I have a 19 month old and a 4 month old and I just switched them to cloth...talk about cost effective (not too mention all the other benefits). If you're not willing to go that route, Costco Kirkland brand is the BEST, they are just like Huggies and very inexpensive.

Jewel-Osco baby basic's they work great I lived by these for the 2 1/2 years my daughter was in dipers. A box of 144 is around 20.00.

I learned something from a friend of mine who works for a retailer - the prices can vary depending on how close the store is to other similar stores (i.e., Target, Walmart, Kmart.) The local competition is much more specific than you would think. So your local stores might not be the same as mine.

We consistently found the cheapest everyday prices on the name brands we liked at Toys R Us, oddly enough. Costco was never as cheap on name brands (even in those enormous boxes, if you calculate the price per diaper) but their store brand was pretty decent for daytime use. But so was Target's and TRUs, and they are both closer to me.

Honestly, I bought Target's brand initially because they did not have the size Huggies I needed. I love them. My daughter is 4 months old this week and I have not had any leaking--except of course for those really really nasty ones. :) Target's brand is only $5.74 for the "jumbo" size pack. That beats sale and coupon of the other brands. She also has not had any rashes from them.

I buy the generic brand from Sam's Club. My daughter never had a leaking problem. My son did at night, so we just put a Pampers Cruiser on him for night time.

TARGET!!! I have 2 girls...my youngest is still in diapers and my oldest occassionally wears a pull-up at night. I have bought Target Brand diapers (once they get size 3 & up buy the boxes, they are a little cheaper) for both of them since they were born...I LOVE them, and have never had a problem with them. I went around to (ToysRUs, Walmart, BabiesRUS, Costco) and did a price comparision...yes, I'm frugal. :) Target Brand was the cheapest. The only time ToysRUs or BabiesRUs were a little cheaper (.01 per diaper) was if they had a Buy One Get One Free Sale. Also, even with my oldest occassionally wearing pull-ups, if Target doesn't have Pampers or Huggies Pull-ups on clearance (CHEAP), then I buy the Target Brand pull-ups as well and they are great too! I also use Target Brand wipes, they are great as well.
As for Diapers.com, they are only cheaper if you want name brands (Pampers, Huggies, Luvs, Seventh Generation, etc.)...they do not carry a "generic brand."
Also, I know that a lot of moms that have boys have experience with certain diapers working well for girls, but not for their boys. But, I have a friend with 2 boys and my sister-in-law has 2 boys and both of them use Target Brand diapers on their boys and LOVE them and have said they have never had a problem. So...there you go...great for your girl and boy. :)
Good Luck...finding what works for your little ones, as well as your pocket book. :)
