Best Priced School Uniforms?

Hi - I live in Duncanville and they have a ridiculously restrictive dress code!

I get my boys unform clothes at, of all places, Academy Sports!!! Their shirts are $5.99 and their pants are $9.99 (this is for boys sizes 12/14, smaller sizes may be a bit less).

My boys are tough, tough, tough on their clothes. The quality of the stuff at Academy is EXCELLENT. The hold up well and don't fall apart after a few washes (unlike walmart stuff).

I went the other day and picked up some new stuff for them and they happened to be out of a size of the colors I needed for shirts. They took down my name and number and when that size came in they called me and had them waiting for me at the customer service desk.

I think it'd be worth the trip all the way to Arlington from Red Oak.

Academy is the best value for the price. Factory 2 You is also good prices. Levines has a good selection, but they are just a little pricey and the sizes are all off.

T., this may not apply to you but I wanted to let you know about it and you can feel free to pass it along to someone you know who is in need.

Speaking of Duncanville, I too live there and attend
church at First Baptist Duncanville. We have a Clothes Closet to help lower income families (or anyone in need) be able to select 4 items of clothing per child. These are new and gently used, clean, mended dress code appropriate clothes.

The dates this year are Sat. Aug. 9 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and if there are still items left to donate, on Monday, Aug. 11 from 10:00 am to noon and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Should anyone want to make a monetary donation to our Clothes Store, the church will gladly take it. Just contact the church from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Mon-Fri. The donations are used to buy items to fill in the gaps for what was donated. We noticed a larger need for the smaller sizes however, we know that there are ALL sizes of students and have also stocked some of the 1X, 2X and 3X sizes. We supplied clothes to over 800 children last year and you know the numbers will increase this year due to higher costs of gas, food, clothing, etc.

Should anyone want to donate clothes, the colors are solid navy and white shirts and navy and khaki pants for 9th grade and above, and for 8th grade and below, black, gray, navy and white tops, and black, gray, navy and khaki pants. Shirts have to be collared and can have no logos. Feel free to email me privately if you have some clothes to donate and I'll see what I can do about getting them from you.

I have found better prices at Levines than most placed particularly most uniform places. The closest one to you is the Levine's in Desoto on Beltline Rd(go west on Beltline from 35-N) in a plaza just before you get to Hampton Rd. You will pass Southwest Uniform on your right hand side going to Levines. Then there is another one on Hampton Rd (turn right at the light at Beltline) about 1/4 mile on your right. I don't know the name of that one.

Levine's usually has uniforms that priced reasonably.

Hi T., this info is for you & whoever needs it. Friendship West Baptist Church is having a back to school fair on Aug. 23rd, you may go to the church & fill out an application for FREE SCHOOL UNIFORMS & SUPPLIES. There are no income requirements, all you have to do is sign up ahead of time. However, when the applications are gone, they are gone and the children have to be present on the 23rd to receive the supplies & uniforms. They will also being doing free health examines & shots.
