My baby is going to turn 1 on sunday 9-9-07 and we have a arranged his birthday to be a pool party at our apartment complex and we rented out the club house. I was just looking for any ideas on games and or inexpensive party snacks.

What can I do next?

What we did for my daughter was have a pool party/luau. We had easy finger foods, because it was mostly 1-3 year olds in attendance. We had a pinata, we let her have the first crack, and since she didn't get it, everyone else had a turn. It was such a hit, every single party ever since then we've had a pinata. We also dressed her up in a little grass skirt and bikini, it was a hoot! Meatballs in a crock pot are always a hit - frozen meatballs, 1 jar of grape jelly and 1 jar chili sauce (any kind) and let it cook all day. Each of the other moms brought something. We always do that -- good luck!

Happy Birthday! Pool parties are fun. My food ideas are easy. I always have a fruit platter, cheese puffs, pretzels, cheese cubs, veggie and dip. I always have 100% juice boxes and water bottles.
the best thing is the cake. I am all about the easy ....I always have the cupcake cake. So everyone gets a great size piece and there is no need for forks and plates. I also have a little seperate cake for my baby. I am always throwing parties and get togethers. How old are the children that you are entertaining. I may have some ideas on party games.

Wow times sure have changed. We never would have imagined giving an actual birthday party for a one-year-old. Oh well. My suggestion would be to make it as simple as possible. At one year old it is doubtful to hold their attention for very long. Maybe have a clown come in for about 10-15 minutes. Just have fun with your baby in the water and play. The cake can be the highlight - do it first and then play and have fun until time for everyone to go home. Remember the baby is only one and he will want a lot of attention from mommy and daddy. Good luck.
