I control my seasonal and pet allergies using a Neti pot to physically rinse out my sinuses daily, and take stinging nettle with quercitin supplements. The nettle without quercitin doesn't work as well for me. Good luck!

Hi L.,

Have you considered going a natural direction to get rid of your allergies? I too had this problem and found a natural solution. I used to have severe allergies and then developed Asthma. I had tried everything and nothing worked, then my friend introduced me to some products and after 6 weeks using them I got better. The cool thing was she also helped me get rid of the toxic chemicals in the house and go green at the same time. I got so excited I started my own business working from home helping other moms just like you and this was 13 years ago. L., if these products work half as well for you as they did for me you will be breathing easy very soon. contact me if you like at: http://www.NoMoreAllergiesStore.info Enter Passcode: STARTHERE

Best of Health,

I use Zyrtec. I have been breastfeeding for 12 months now and take it everyday. I also took it my entire pregnancy and had no side effects.

L.,

I had severe allergies and received allergy shots weekly while pregnant and breastfeeding. My allergy doc said that Zyrtec (which has been shown safe to give to babies) and Claritin were fine, but not to use the ones with "-D", Decongestant, or ones with Stimulants in them (psuedoephedrine) like Sudafed.

Good luck.

I have used both Claritan and Benedryl while breastfeeding. My OB said the benedryl may make both me and the child drowsy, so I only used that in the evening - so neither of us were sleeping all day... My child didn't seem to be effected by it all all - she still stayed awake all night - lol.

Good Luck!

my best advice is to check with your pharmacist. us breastfeeding mommies have to suck it up and suffer because there really isnt a lot out there we can take while nursing. good luck!

I know that Claritin is safe while pregnant, as well as while breastfeeding. Just be sure it's not Claritin D. I took it without any issues at all.

I would be very careful while breast feeding and taking medication. I know many people that are drinking Xango juice to help control seasonal allergies using 100% natural ingrediants. The xanthones contained in this juice will help to control your allergies and actually give you more energy as well. Frequently when you breast feed you become exhausted and more suceptiable to illness. If you would like a free sample of this juice please email me your address and I will send it: ____@____.com other thing I would strongly reccomend looking into if you are congested is what we call the "SNOT ROCKET" It is a nasal rinse made by Neil Med Sinus Irrigator and sold in stores like CVS. The kit will come with a nasal bottle and special packets you rinse out your nasal passages with. I often use this in or right after a shower. My ENT doctor told me to so this and it really helps! It costs about $10.00 but it is well worth it! They also make a smaller sixe for children. The packet you add to warm water is very soothing. It may seem gross but it will really help and it poses no problem to your baby.

Hi, when I was pregnant I got somekind of itchy rash allergy. My doctor went through all the meds and Zyrtech(sp??) was a good one for pregnant or nursing Moms. Maybe it will help. Also I think its over the counter too.

Hi L.,
I also am an allergy sufferer. Unlike you, I have allergies year round. In addition to allergy shots twice a week, I took zyrtec my entire pregnacy, after delivery and thru 18 months of breastfeeding. Lucky for you, it can now be purchased over the counter. My son never showed problems breastfeeding because of the medication and thankfully he is still allergy free at three years of age. Hope this helps you!

I have learned that we are not allergic to nature, but that nature has a natural way of getting us to detoxify ourselves. Even dandelion root is used as a blood cleaner and a liver stimulus. The liver helps rid the body of toxins and helps produce bile (stuff to break the bad things down).

1 - Allow yourself to simply detox. Get rid of all of the puss and mucus that the body is overpowered with. This is the job of the lymph system (bodies sewage system). The only way to stimulate those is through movement of the groin (opening and closing the legs) or the arms (as they are under your armpits). Hence any exercise moving both is great. You'll find more mucus and puss coming out of you after doing these exercises after urination.

2 - Stay away from dairy products - milk, cheese, ice cream, etc. Butter or ghee (clarified butter) is okay.

3 - Keep away from the sugar - processed sugars are deadly as they reduce your immune system down up to 90% (Gary Null) for 5 hours after intake, but also toxify the blood. Yes, the body has a real tough time getting rid of anything over processed like white sugar, flour, etc. Use honey, maple syrup, stevia, and very little if any organic pure can sugar (sucranat) as substitutes. If you get a craving have a piece of fruit, fruit juice, or eat a piece of jam that's been sweetened with fruit juice. Today, they make lots of tasty things without processed sugar. There's no reason to settle for anything that tastes like cardboard!

4 - Take extra antioxidants, fresh juices and purified water (about 8 oz every hour).

5 - Glyco-Thymalene (sold by http://www.caycecures.com and costs about $12-$14). Is used as a ph balancer for the mucus membrane system. It can be used for the eyes, ears, nose, throat, mouth, chest, as a douche, enema, etc. Ingestion: Must be diluted though - 2-3 drops in a half a glass of water, then drink a whole glass of water immediately afterwards. Can place an oz in a small pot of water and use as an inhalant and then dip a washcloth in it to place as a compress over your sinus' (head/neck/chest). You can write me for more at ____@____.com luck!
