Buying for Twins

So, my best friend is having twins, and they just found out they're losing the home they rent (landlord wants to move her son in there). Now all of their baby-money is going towards relocating. I'm trying to help her out all I can, but can't seem to find thrift stores or consignment shops that sell things for multiples. Anyone have an idea where I can find a cheap double stroller, double harness carrier, etc? I lucked into getting her matching cribs finally (free! - yay craigslist!), but the other items seem to be either insanely expensive or impossible to find.

What can I do next?

You can advertise online with the kc star for free. Also there is a thing someone told me about called freecycle. Best of luck to you in your search and your friend in her pregnancy. C.

Children's Orchard in KC North, off of 64th St, often has larger items, and multiple items, such as swings, bouncy seats, etc....you could always call them before you go to see what they have in stock. Their prices are very reasonable, also, you could post your want on Craig's list. There are also a few multiples clubs in Kansas City, you could maybe call one and see if any members have any of their stuff for sale. Mother and Child reunion magazine often has contact info for the mom's groups, you can access the magazine online.

There are clubs for parents of twins and they are a great network for that sort of thing, plus they often have huge garage sales. I would just google that or look up mom support groups for twins. Hospitals or nurselines can probably refer you.
