Does anyone know a good daycare in the North Dallas (Plano, Allen, Mckinney) area??? I'm starting back to work in a few weeks and need to find one asap that isn't too expensive. I've been reading a lot of horrible reviews about daycares online that really scare me so please let me know of any good ones you trust.

Thanks,

A. C.

Both of my children attend daycare at Adventures in Growing owned and operated by Trish Clary. My son has been there since he was 8 weeks old and now he is aging out this summer. Trish is a former teacher with degrees in early childhood education and special education. There is currently a full time opening and there will be another when
my son heads off to pre-K. Trish is not a babysitter, she is a teacher. Check out her website: adventuresingrowing.net. We are so happy with Trish that even when my son changes schools, my daughter is staying behind so she gets the same education my son received even though it's out of the way for us. 2 other families also travel out of the way so their kids can be with Trish. Openings don't tend to last long, so if interested give her a call ###-###-####. She is in Plano south of Parker between Independence & Coit.

Hi A.,

I second Trish Clary. My daughter has been with Trish for almost two years and we have been thrilled with her growth and development. She serves organic food, teaches age appropriate lessons, and is very knowledgeable about children and stages of development - she has a master's in child development. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Good luck with your search - I know this can be hard and scary. But there are some good day cares out there. Trust your instincts.

Take care,
A. F.

My daughter is almost two and I have had her with the same childcare provider (Laura Stone) since she was 12 weeks when I had to return to work. I absolutley love Laura she has taken care of children for close to 30 years (if not longer)and is a wonderful & very patient person. She loves to teach and read to the kids and they all love her the same. I personally have formed a bond that not only makes it easier for me to leave my daughter with her but she is a part of my family. I am not sure of your budget but when I was looking for childcare her prices where the same if not a bit cheaper than others that I quoted for inhome care or child centers.

Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions, I have put the information below. Good Luck with the search!

Hi A.,
I know your feeling uneasy about this. Remember this, most of the time when you here anything it's bad news. People love to talk about the bad things. Out of the thousands of the daycare homes there are most of them are really good. I was a home daycare provider for almost 16 years. Do a search on TDFPS. Everyone that is registered and license is on there and you can see the results of there inspections.
I do not recommend daycare centers. The ratios are too high.

I recommend these 2 providers I've listed below.
They are very good and very experienced.

Hi A., I have both of my kids (one is 7 months and the other is 3 1/2 years) in Prince of Peach Christian School. It's in Plano west of the Tollway off Park. We absolutely ADORE it. The ladies in the baby class are just wonderful--they fall in love with those babies and love them so much! The school is an actual school that goes from pre-k through 12th grade, and they have an Early Learning Center for babies through 2 years old as well. Call them and set up a tour, and I guarantee it'll be an answer to prayer! :) We have also had our kids at Carpe Diem Private Preschool in Richardson and were pleased with that location, so those would be two great ones to check out! Hope this helps--I know how daunting this task is.

Hi- I suggest Watters Montessori on Bossy Boots Lane in Allen. It is off of 75 and Exchange. We love it. My daughter could not be happier and the infant room is simply wonderful. Listen to the feedback that you hear but know that there are several GOOD programs out there that your child will thrive in. Good Luck!
