Hi Mommies-

I know it's late notice but can anyone recommend a good restaurant that my family and I can try on Christmas? I am 8 months pregnant and don't want to cook this year. Any and all recommendations are appreciated.

N.,

Have you tried Brass? It is next to the Barrington AMC theatres and is really good. We went there for my husband's birthday last weekend and really enjoyed ourselves. Depending on how big your party is, you can get a separate room (there is one in the bar area that is nice - it closes off from the bar so it's not smoky). Their menu is upscale - a steak is $25-$30, but everyone LOVED their meals. Good luck and congratulations on the pregnancy!

I am not sure if they are open, but everyone seems to have a good time when we go to Joe's Crab Shack, and there is something for everyone to eat there. Might not be as nice as you were thinking, but they are great with the kids, we usually go with a 22 month old and a 9 year old.

Can I just suggest getting the holiday meal at the local Dominics or Jewels? We always do that because otherwise, way too much work...it's 40 bucks and all you have to do is pick it up and heat your turkey for two hours, it's already cooked. And it comes with all the extras too....good luck.

Hi N... go ahead and treat yourself to a dinner out FOR SURE!!!

Depending on your style I have a few suggestions. Millrose Brewery on Barrington Road.. is very festive during the holidays! We ate there for Thanksgiving one year when I too didn't want to cook... Also Prairie Rock Brewery on I believe Meecham Road down a bit from Motorola campus before Woodfield is nice.. it has a cozy.. loft like charm with brick interior and the food is very good too.. you can check their website.. I don't know if Millrose has a website but you can check that out too.. Good luck.. hope that helps.. We plan to go to Olive Garden out by us in West Dundee for Christmas Eve,.. always good food and reasonable.. just not as decorative as the others..
