hi all,
Our almost 10 lb daughter is be inbetween cloth diaper cover sizes. Newborn bummis and prowraps are now too small. small sized bummis, nikki, swaddlebees and wisper wraps are way too big.
we are having blowouts at least once a day. Have heard good things about thirsties and mother ease and am going to try those. Not interested in pocket or aio for this short period of time. what covers do you all like? anyone gone through this in between sizes at different stages?
thanks so much!!

Mother Ease is the best. We couldn't afford a bunch of One-Size dipes, so we have 5 for night-time and use the Airflow covers with prefolds. My dd is 21 mths and we still love them. They are great for all weights.

If you're having blowouts it may be the diapers, and not the cover that are the problem. At this stage for my almost-3-week daughter, who is a bit over 10 lbs (yeah she's huge) we use Kissaluv size 0 fitted diapers which NEVER blow out. For covers we have an old stash of Motherease Airflow covers (size Small). They're a bit "puffy" and on the large side for her right now, but they contain any remnants of blow-out really well. We also have the size small Whisper Wraps and they seem to fit a bit trimmer than the Motherease covers, but they also wick a little around the waist and legs, which I don't like. Overall, I prefer the Motherease covers.

Hi. I had used cloth diapers. We made them ourselves then I got the plastic covers from Kmart. I had to change every 2 hrs and then when it got to be alot I double diapered. Hope this helps.

Order motherease! I've been cloth diapering for more than 12 yrs. and they're the best! They are also really kind and helpful on the phone if you need to ask questions.

I carry mother-ease in our boutique and I have positive feedback about them. See if you like them.

Both Thirsties and Imse Vimse will make a diaper cover to fit this size. The Imse Vimse tend to run big at this point so I would suggest the Newborn size Imse Vimse. The Thirsties would still have you in the XS.

I have an almost 10 lber at this time too. We are using the Thirsties XS and Swaddlebees NB & S. The limited edition Swaddlebees in chocolate and periwinkle matches too many of my new boys clothes to resist.

Mother-ease Airflow covers have worked for us. They are super adjustable - the sizes usually overlap so you can fit those in between stages.

Hi L.,

You might want to try a small Bummi Super Brite - they run a little bit smaller than the Bummi Super Whisper Wraps, and they have the leg gussets like the Prowraps, which would help contain any leakage around the legs. They are sized for babies 8 to 16 pounds, so they should fit your daughter now...

Good luck finding the right covers for your daughter! :-)

Warmly,
J.

We love Thirsties and Motherease. My friend swears by Motherease. I use Thirsties on my baby now. No blowouts ever! Do note though that once your baby starts solids the poop consistency will change and blowouts are less likely to happen. My baby doesn't have them anymore since she started solids. We use Thirsties with a prefold but my friend uses them with motherease. Good luck and thanks for doing your part to conserve!

Our favorite has been Dappi nylon pullups, used for both kids. We have some regular velcro covers like the Whisper Wrap, but don't find any advantages with them. The Dappis are $2 so if they don't work well, you're not out a bunch of $$$.

Hi L. - I have a cloth diaper biz in northern Chicago land. I carry both Thirsties and Motherease (although they are not on my site). They are both excellent choices and having used them both, I doubt that you will have issues with blowouts. With the prefolds that you have, you may need to move up a size. The newborn size is usually good till about 3 months. Are you using a Snappi? That might help you to get a better fit. Here is a link to my site www.lovebugsco.com. I'd be happy to help you out.

Thirsties are awesome, especially for newborn poop because they have an extra gusset. I have NEVER had a Thirsties leak and my daughter had "juicy" breastfed poop LOL
They run a little large in my opinion. My daughter is 29 pounds and 36 inches tall and she is comfortably in mediums.
www.nickisdiapers.com has free shipping on covers and she is great about exchanges (so long as it has tags and was not used). I would definitely buy them from her.
good luck to you
