Coffee? Yes Please!

I live on coffee, I have on average 3 HUGE cups of coffee. The days I try to go without my coffee I find myself dragging. I know I am addicted to the caffine so I have been trying to limit the coffee to 1 huge cup a day (which is about 2 regular cups). There really are no other caffinated beverages, maybe a soda when we go out to eat or over to someone elses house but we do not stock soda unless we are having people over.

I guess I just want to know that there are others out there like me. How much do you drink a day and can you go more then a day without coffee? Sitting here happy with a cup of coffee in my hand. Also I just heard that coffee might be good for your skin, I did not read the whole story but it must have to do with the caffine.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

It is so great to see others like me! I have tried to go without coffee the past two days and it is not going over at all... at this very moment the coffee pot is brewing me a nice BIG pot of coffee.

I do like to add a little bit of flavored creamer, usually about a tablespoon for my big cup. During the summer I love making iced coffee which I make with half coffee and half milk. I am sensitve to milk (hard to drink more then 3oz straight) so I figure it is also a good way to get my milk if I put it in my beloved coffee :)

My brain and caffeine: A Love Story

I drink a french press a day. Sometimes a wee bit more. It's a lot of caffeine, somewhere around 320 - 450 mg a day (!!!!). Probably not great for my adrenal system (among other things).

Without it I am a troll of a woman, a seriously nasty person, and I simply don't function.

So...it's my one addiction I doubt I'll ever give up (this year I'm giving myself the gift of non-smoker-dom...well, in theory *sigh*). But coffee? I'm NOT messing with it.

If I ever quit drinking coffee the economy of at least 3 South amercian countries will go bankrupt :-)) !!! I make a 12 cup perk coffee pot every day, no matter how hot it is outside. Chocolate is another dear friend of mine. Both are full of antioxidents.

I tell my kids that with all the coffee I drink and chocolate I eat I will never die.

2-4 liters of Coke or 4-6liters of mountain dew of 16-20 shots of espresso.

Pretty norm in my ADHD fam.

My dad decided to cut back twice in my life. The first time he cut back 1 pot a day. The second time he also cut down 1 pot a day. He's down to 2 pots a day (12 cup pot).

So honey... 6 cups? No. No, I'm not like you at all. From where I stand, you're teetotaling ;)

I drink coffee.
I like STRONG coffee.
But I drink it black. Nothing in it.
I drink about 2 big cups a day.
I don't feel bad about it. Why should I?
But, if I don't drink coffee, I am still fine.
I just like coffee.

And I don't drink sodas or juices.

I've been addicted since 7 years of age...I'm 42 now. I drink an average of about 10 cups a day. I rarely drink anything else unless I go out to eat or visit a friend. I probably should be drinking more water, but I don't. I've tried cutting back, but I keep going back. It's my only vice. Without coffee, I'm miserable and cannot function.

You are not alone!

Lol. I drink 3 huge mugs a day too. Which measure out to about eight cups.
It just makes me happy.
Though I get a serious migraine if I don't feed my addiction on time.
I should cut back.
And have in the past.
But for this season in my life...it works for me. :)

Mmmmmm... coffee. I love it. I love the smell of it, the taste of it, the color of a nice black cup of it. Somewhere along the line I switched to espresso and I probably drink too much of it. It is my only vice though and I don't feel bad about it. Hook up the mainline Joe....

I would probably die without coffee. I have 2-3 big cups of coffee a day. If I don't have it within an hour or so after waking up, I start to get a really bad headache! (My name is Catherine, and I'm a coffee addict...)

i LOVE coffee..
I worked at Starbucks for 7 years and it totally made me an addict.
But I refuse to cut back :)
It is my vice and I plan to keep it. aha

I drink 2-3 cups a day, but I swear I could go for an iced espresso all the time. Too bad I don't have my own espresso machine or enough money to go to Starbucks several times a day :)

I am also an addict. I love coffee! Even reading this question and all the answers makes me starting Jonesing for a cup :-) I figure it's my only vice, and it's legal and not harmful to those I love, so I'm not going to stop. I try to limit how much I purchase from places like Caribou and Starbuck's, but once a week or so I treat myself to one. But I have to have some every morning, and usually in the afternoon. The caffeine withdrawal headaches are no fun at all though, so I can't skip my morning cups! Drink up and enjoy every drop!

God bless caffeine!! Caribou Coffee has done very well by me on a weekly basis... Actually, to save a little $$, I'm trying to cut back on my trips through the drive-thru. But I still have at least 1 huge cuppa home-brewed joe in the morning and 1 can of Coke in the afternoon. A friend of mine likes to call coffee "personality in a cup." :)

I usually have a cup and a half in the mornings. If my husband makes it one cup will usually do (he makes it using the "bold" setting).

I like it alot. But I CAN give it up if I decided I wanted to. It isn't THAT big of a deal. But when I have skipped it (accidentally and didn't notice that I forgot to drink any!), I ended up with caffeine withdrawal the next day. Nausea, splitting headache. Might've been a migraine for all I know---I've never had them, so I wouldn't know if it was or wasn't.

It doesn't take a LOT of coffee routinely, just any amount routinely that you suddenly stop. ;)

I love my caffeine. I have a cup of tea first thing, then a Diet Pepsi, and then a cup of tea at lunch. Today I'm having a third cup of tea.

When pregnant, I allow myself 1 cup of tea and 1 soda. Everything in moderation! (But I use an old fashion home birth midwife too, who says to have a glass of wine and to take a bath if you think you are in labor!)

I have 3 sodas left in the house, and then I am going to give up the DP.

Yep, I'm addicted...
Love my "large" french vanilla iced coffee with stevia... It might actually be considered an extra large cup cause it goes into a large 7-eleven slurpee cup.. PS I don't drink slurpees, my husband saves the cups when he craves one once every 3 months...Thankfully that's the only caffeine I have..

I sure do love my coffee.. i have about 2 cups a day and am kind of grumpy when I don't have any. I don't drink any after 2 p.m. though so I can still sleep like a baby at night :) Every thing I have read indicates that coffee is a great antioxidant and pretty healthy for you as long as you aren't dousing it with sugar. I enjoy mine with a splash of whole heavy whipping cream and sprinkle it with pumpkin spice seasoning on top...divine!!

I love coffee. When I was teaching, I drank a lot more of it than I do now that I'm a SAHM. Also, I can't currently drink it for any reason other than the taste because my 4 month old is fairly sensitive to the caffeine. So, decaf for me right now! I'm going to try half-caf after I run out of the decaf I'm currently going through and see if she can handle that! I sure hope so! I could use a little shot of energy first thing in the morning!

I live for my coffee in the morning. I was able to wean myself down so I drink on e huge cup of caffinated and the second is decaffinated. It is rare that I have anything else during the day with caffine (unless you count chocolate LOL). I don't drink much soda at all and when I do it's Hansen's so it's decaf.
I love that nice warm beverage first thing in the morning, even when it's super hot outside I still have to have it.

Anything in moderation, they say coffee is not bad but I would still limit your intake to 2 cups max and try to take a couple of days off. Also what do you put in your coffee that could change the answer too.

I drink what is probably 2-3 regular cups (if I use my big cup it is twice the size) a day. I enjoy my coffee in moderation.

If you want to cut back, drink water. It will help the headaches.

I had to go cold turkey when pregnant with DD. It made me sick.

I have one, maybe 2 cups in the morning. I put tons of powdered creamer and splenda so technically I don't even taste the coffee! I'm super sensitive to the caffeine so if I don't eat anything I will have the shakes by noon! And no way can I drink it later or I will be up all night.

I drink about a cup of day of strong coffee. Sometimes I'll have 2-3 cups but generally it's only one cup. I get caffeine headaches if I try and go w/out (not to mention cranky & impatient). So for the sake of everyone else (yeah, that it's) I have my daily coffee :0) It keeps me sane!

I don't drink coffee. I used to, but never got addicted.

I know there are reports every now and then that shows a supposed benefit, but the proven cons way outweigh the pros. I avoid that stuff like the plague... .I don't want to be dependent on a drink in order to function :)
