Good Morning, We live in the Kansas City area and we are looking at possibly visiting Branson, MO this summer and would like to rent a condo. Do any of you have a recommendation? We are a family of 4, my husband and myself and our 2 boys, 18 and 15. We would love to find a place that would have a lake view but possibly part of a resort that has a nice pool. I know, that's a tall order :).

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Also, if you have suggestions for activities while we are there that would be great too!!

Thank you,

M.

Try airbnb, I've rented a few vacation homes through them this year and it's been a smooth and fantastic experience.

I've used VRBO for renting in Branson. We had a great experience and found a cute place about 20 minutes outside of downtown Branson. They have a lot of condo community type places in Branson where you can get a condo that has access to a community pool and hot tub.

We've stayed at Eagle's Nest resort (formerly Lantern Bay resort) before. It's about 2 miles from Silver Dollar City and it's an easy drive to the Branson strip. From what I recall, the pool was nice. There was a nice view from the deck, and it was peaceful.

If this is your first trip to Branson, I would probably plan some time at Silver Dollar City so your boys can enjoy the rides. (Just prepare them to not expect it to be anything like Six Flags!) I'd also schedule time for a few shows. If Rick Thomas is still there, his magic show was quite good. Shoji Tabuchi had a great show also. I dragged my husband to the Dixie Stampede... It's a bit hokey, but I told him it's just part of the Branson experience that everyone needs to see once in their life!

Another vote for Eagle's Nest . . close to Silver Dollar City and on the lake. It was a very beautiful setting and the condos were nice and well kept and reasonably priced. They also had a pool . . . it wasn't like a super fancy pool but it was clean and, if I recall correctly, large.

I've always had pretty good luck with Homeaway.com for house/condo vacation rentals.
