Could It Be Twins? - Omaha,NE

Moms, I know that the only way to know if I'm having twins for sure is to have my ultrasound, which is scheduled in two weeks (I'm 6 weeks along). But I'm growing more anxious by the day wondering if I'm possibly pregnant with two. Here are some things going on that I'd like to share. Please give me your thoughts. I know you can't diagnose me of course, but I just have a hard time separating my want for twins with the realism of whether or not it really is (Ha!).
1. I'm 35, this is my third pregnancy.
2. My mom is a fraternal twin, one of two sets in her immediate family.
3. My pregnancy test came up positive 6 days before my expected period and after I had just peed an hour prior. So it was not concentrated and still was positive this early into my cycle.
4. With my first two, I had very minimal implantation bleeding - a pink spot once on the toilet paper both times. With this one, I had more brownish discharge and a streak of pink (once) for about 2 days off and on - definitely more than in the past.
5. I have had days of feeling nauseous for the past three weeks - whether I'm hungry or not. In the past, I don't experience this until about 6 weeks or so. I did get sick once at 5 weeks so far.
6. I am peeing literally every 2 to 3 hours and have not increased my intake of fluids. I'm already up once each night to pee. The overnight peeing I'm experiencing now was similar to my second daughter, however.
7. I. Am. So. Tired. I was fatigued with my first two, but I don't remember it being this extreme last time. It's not just that I want to sleep, it's that my body is physically exhausted at times.
8. For three weeks (since I found out), I have been seeing articles, TV shows, hearing stories, seeing families all that have something to do with twins. Not on a daily basis, but pretty close to it.
9. I know this is my third, so you do bump out earlier. And maybe it's just me and wishful thinking, but I swear my tummy is slightly more protruding than before. I'm not eating a ton more, though I am really hungry all the time.
10. I have been having headaches more frequently than normal. I didn't get headaches with my other two until about 4 months. Maybe this is due to being so tired... not sure.
Basically, if these symptoms were all on their own without the others, I wouldn't think much of it. But all together, it makes me wonder. I'm just impatient. I know you can't tell me. I just wonder what others think about all these symptoms and if I should keep it in the back of my mind or try to stop thinking about it for the next two weeks. Of course I don't want to get my hopes up and be disappointed at the ultrasound. Ultimately I want to be realistic. Thanks for reading and appeasing me while I wait (impatiently) for my 8 week appointment.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

And thank you to all those who are realistic. That's why I'm asking. Am I just over excited at the possibility and thinking inaccurately? Probably. So I need some reality :) Thanks!

Well I don't have twins so can't share that experience.

I do know I carried differently and had different symptoms with the different genders.
My headaches, spotting, bump, sleep, moods, fatigue, how much I bloated was very dependent on the gender. Even my hair was different.

I also was more fatigued and had headaches the older I got. Part of that I think is just age (and the peeing) and part of it is you have little ones already to care for.

You are older and it's your third pregnancy. It's normal to feel more tired and to show sooner. Not sure about the frequent urinating, it's not like your baby (or babies) is any bigger than a pea at this point. Maybe mention that to your doctor.

I had three singleton pregnancies before having twins (as a surrogate, I didn't get to keep the little buggers). Gestational Carrier surrogacy is done via IVF and you have multiple HCG tests a series of days after the embryo transfer to confirm the pregnancy and monitor viability until you get to that first u/s. Honestly other than seeing really, really high HCG numbers on those tests that lent themselves to a strong suspicion of multiples, there were no early signs for me that differed from my other pregnancies. We confirmed twins at the 6 week u/s.

Whatever happens, I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy!

I'm sorry, but this all sounds like coincidence/symptoms of having a 3rd baby/being pregnant after age 35.

Of course it's possible that it's twins, but I don't think it's any more likely than is was the first two times you were pregnant. Not trying to be a killjoy, just a realist.

Congrats on your pregnancy!

Each pregnancy is different. I would say it's a coincidence.

Hormones can amp up everything that you might not have noticed before.

How do the twins run in your family? Are there a lot of them or do they skip generations??
what about on your husband's side??

With each pregnancy I had? I showed much earlier. Breathe...

Statistically, probably not. But since you hope to have them, then I hope you are feeling that way for a reason! Anyway, congrats!! Very exciting.

It's too soon to come to any conclusions.
Twins/triplets/etc might be a pleasant surprise if that's what you are hoping for, but some might jump to a more unhappy conclusion - that something is wrong.
So try to keep an even keel until you get your sonogram and until you hear multiple heart beats.
Put it out of your mind and take good care of yourself.
