Hi, as a mom and pre school teacher, I am helping my 4 yr olds to make holiday wreaths out of there hand prints. Trace there hands several times in green and light green paper. Use red circles for berries. then put a picture of the family/child in the center. Looks great in the home, and great gift for grandparents.
Good Luck and Happy Holidays

A little late, or early for next year, depends how you look at it;-) Cut the shape of a gingerbread man out of sandpaper (2) two times. Glue them back to back with the rough side out. I think I used fine or medium grit. Then use a cinnamon stick to rub all over him. Still smells good when I open the box of decorations 3 years later.

Another cinnamon decoration that we made when I was a kid, was made out of dough, and we used cookie cutters to cut out the shapes and a small hole was poked in the top before they dried. Then you turn them over every day till they get dry. I can't remember what the dough was made out of, but I want to say flour and elmers glue and some cinnamon.

You can also make reindeers out of the old clothes pins not the ones with the springs. Another good idea is making candy canes with pipe cleaners and red and white beads.

We would air-pop popcorn and string it, together with colored cherrios on thread, and then hang it on the tree.

I remember cutting construction paper into strips and glueing them together by interlinking the circles to make a paper garland for the christmas tree. That's about it. I'll also use up the idea of aluminum foil and stars from the previous post... Happy Christmas everone!

The reindeer is really cute. My daughter, Rayne Elizabeth is 8 months old and I did this with her. (Except I call it a Rayne-dear - for my daughter's name) :-)

Another that I did, I think I just made it up, but it sounded cute... and looks even cuter... is a Tree Frame. I took green construction paper and cut out a big triangle and used a popsicle stick for the tree base. I took random colors of construction paper and cut out circles. I found a few cute pictures of her, cut them into smaller circles and glued them to the colorful circles and then glued them both to the tree (as ornaments)... just a few ideas!!!

You can make reindeers out of your handprints and footprint.
footprint as head and handprint as antlers. You also make silver bells out of dixiecups and aluminum foil. Sprinkle glitter on pinecones and glue ribbon on for hanger. You can also make star out of aluminum foil. You can find foam pieces at wal mart shaped like christmas trees and snowmen to decorate. Dont forget about the snowflakes out of white paper. Have fun and happy holidays

great ideas everyone! i'm going to use some of them!

HAND AND FOOT PRINT REINDEER
What You Need:
• White paper
• Pencils
• Markers, crayons, paint (your choice)
• Glue (glue sticks)
• Safety scissors
What You Do:
1. First, students trace one of their feet (with shoes on) on one sheet of paper.
2. Next, students trace each of their hands on another sheet of paper.
3. Then, students cut out their hand and footprints.
4. The footprint becomes the reindeer's head.
5. The handprints become the reindeer's antlers.
6. Students use glue to assemble their reindeer.
7. Students can use markers, crayons, paint, etc. to color in their reindeer.
8. Features such as eyes and a nose can be added with markers, crayons, or paint.

Also go to Michaels crafts and they have 'ornament making kits' for $1 that kids can make . . . they are super easy to do
Another idea is Wal-Mart has clay ornaments with paint (in their craft section) for $2.50
also you can make popcorn garland

Hello! I did an ornament a couple of years ago using my kids fingerprints. I used their fingers to make snowmen on an ornament and then I went back and added faces, arms, hat, etc. They turned out very cute and my family loved them!

Goodmorning Ms.T., When I was in school we made a gifted for our mom's. We took oranges and pushed whole cloves
into them. They make your house smell so good at Christmas! Just take about 4 oranges and put whole cloves in them and then put them into a real pretty bowl and set them on your table. Your whole house will smell like Christmas!!! I hope you and your daughter try this and like it,and I hope ya'll have a very Merry Christmas!!! Your friend, L. H.
