Crib Bumper Question

I have a crib for my daughter that doesn't have slats on the back. It has a solid back, it's a sleigh type crob design. How do I get the bumper to stay up on the back? Before she moved around, it stayed up fine, but now she rolls around and pulls it down. If i take it out, will she hurt herself? Any advice for me would be much appreciated, thank you!

What can I do next?

I've never used a bumber with my daughter and she's still in one piece.
I also have a weird crib that didn't agree with the bumper. Also, they aren't very breathable and if they were to push their face up against it they could potentially not be able to breathe.
I wouldn't worry about a bumper at all.

If she pulls it down it is time to remove it.

Once they start moving around, you are not supposed to have cushioned bumpers in the crib. It raises the rates of SIDS. Our hospital reccomended no bumpers or the breathable ones. The nurse said she doesnt even know why they make them because you shouldnt use them. If it were me I would take them off, especially because the bumper isnt secure and believe it or not, the baby could get stuck underneath.

We never used them and our son did fine. I don't plan on using them on the second one either. If you are still worried, check out the breathable ones. Good luck!

I agree that you don't need bumpers. If you feel more comfortable that she won't stick a limb out and them roll or something weird like that, you can get "breathable bumpers" (I got mine from one step ahead). It should work with your crib as it attaches with velcro in two spots at the front of the crib. It also takes the worry of breathing into a bumper out of the way.

We had a similiar problem. I found myself removing them anyway around 4 months...as they would roll around the crib and get caught. So we didn't have anything on and they seemed to get their little limbs in and didn't know how to get out or bump their head. So we purchased breathable crib bumpers - at babies r us - they have been working perfectly. Good luck.

If she's moving around...time to get the bumper out of there.

That was one of the things we found out with our first one. For what we paid for the crib set (including bumper) it kinda stunk because he couldn't use the quilt it came with and the bumper was removed rather early on. It was a waste of $. Lol.

With the new baby coming, we are just reusing our first son's things and won't be investing in a "crib set".

I never ended up putting a bumper in my son's crib (who is now 2) and he never once hurt himself. I had a greater fear off suffocation using the bumper. It's all personal choice.

My daughter is 10 months and we never put a bumper pad up and we haven't had any problems. I would say take it down. I don't know how old your daughter is but the crib was the first place my daughter could stand up in and it seems like she instantly started jumping up and down in there. The bumper could have caused lots of problems.

I tried bumper pads with both my sons and both of them got there head caught between the bumper pad and the crib slats. With my next child I am going to skip the bumper pads.
