My 2-month old has started crying after having her bath. She enjoys the water, its after when we are putting her diaper on or applying lotion. This is disturbing as she rarely cries. Has anyone else dealt with this?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We took your advice and bought extra soft towels and warmed them in the dryer while we bathed her. When we were done washing and rinsing her we wrapped her in the warm towel. She still cried but it was for a shorter time. Thank you all for your advice :)

Funny that you mentioned this, my 15 month old just started doing the same thing. I originally thought he just didnt want to get out of the tub or didnt want his diaper back on. I think I figured out that he is cold. I started wrapping him up in a towel and giving him a blanket when he is on the changing table, then I distract him with some singing or giggly stuff, and it has helped. I figured out the cold thing, when I noticed he was shivering in between crying screams. Anyway, hope this helps.

My baby did that after her very first bath... we figured she was cold. This is going to sound crazy, but we started blow drying her body after we took her out. Not her face, obviously, but started with her feet and legs to get her used to the noise and feel. We do it now after every bath and she loves it. It warms her up so well... Hope that helps. :)

Try using a nice warm just-out-of-the-dryer towel. Bet she'll love it :).

My little one started doing the same thing. I even close the vents in the bedroom and bathroom. In the bath she is so happy and calm then when I start putting on the diaper and lotion she cries with acutal tears. Last night I wrapped her up in a thicker towel and she didnt cry so I am thinking that might be the answer. I had been using the ones from babies r us (especially for baby) they are light. Hope this helps.

My two year old has done it since birth. Why? She hates getting cold after getting out of the water. Simple as that. :-)

I try to keep her bundled in a towel as much as possible. Try making sure the lotion is warm by throwing the bottle in the bath water so it's a little heated up.

My 3 year old son is doing it now too, I think it's normal. They don't like to get cold like that and don't really understand it.
