I need to shed 8 pounds off, I have been going to the Gym since Decemeber and no change on the scale. I manage to go 3-4 times a week for about 30 mins each time, I have always eaten right, no problem there. But now I really feel like I have waisted my time at the gym. I mix my work outs at the gym, but one minute I feel like I see results, the next minute no change, very discouraging:(
My questions is to anyone who has used curves and the traditional gyms. Which is better as far as getting results?Curves is a appealing to me since it's recommended 3 times a week for 30 minutes. I just don't want to join Curves since we are really tight on budget, but if I hear great stories from you ladies, with success, I am willing to take the risk.
Thanks all, happy Easter!

Curves hands down! They have this new equipment called Curves Smart and it really is awesome! I love it! I would never walk in to a regular gym again!

I did Curves after the birth of my 2nd child and thought it was way too easy. The resistance on the machines is not enough. I think Curves would be a step down for you. You say you are eating well, but to lose weight, you simply must burn more calories than you eat. I would suggest trying Weight Watchers Online (no meetings that way) to get an idea of how much you can eat each day and still lose weight and I would increase your exercise to 6 days per week for at least 30 min each time (an hour would be even better). Good luck.

Skip Curves. I dreaded going and it seemed like the 30 minutes took FOREVER. I like Jazzercise. It's an hour long and it flies by. I have heard awesome things about Zumba. I am going to try that as soon as this baby comes. Jazzercize costs about the same as Curves not sure about Zumba though.

I did Curves and lost over 25 pounds in a short time by working out 3 times a week for 30 minutes 3 laps around the circle and eating 5 small meals per day with 2 snacks with lots of water. I Went from a size 14 to size 2 and it only took me 4 months!!! One reson why I loved Curves was they weigh measure you and do your BMI oncve a month and you they graft it for you and you see the results. It's also personal and you soon become friends with other regular members! Iloved it and I think I will join again I just had my 3rs baby and need to lose 15 pounds.....Good Luck!

Gym, absolutely. There's a book - the ultimate body makeover - that has you eating combined carb + protein 6 x per day and working out - weights one day, aerobics the next. It gave the fastest composition change that I had never seen.

If you've been going to the gym, then Curves is a big step down for you. Their machines are resistance based, not weight based, so they probably won't even challenge you. The key to weight-loss is eating fewer calories than you are using. Go to this website and use the tools to determine how many calories you need to eat every day to reach your weight-loss goal and I guarantee you it will work! (It's worked for me and my husband, who have lost a combined 130 pounds!)

What exactly do you do for 30 minutes at the gym? You need to be getting your heart rate up and keeping it there for at least 30 minutes and doing some weight training also. Are there personal trainers at your gym? Sweet talk one of them into giving you a free session. Tell them you aren't seeing any results with what you are doing and that you'd like to see if they can get you on track.
