We are expecting our first baby, and my husband is looking for a class to help him learn the basics. We will be having her at DRMC in Denton and they have no parenting classes. He told me he wants a class to show him the basics of swaddling, comforting and feeding. Any ideas? We have lots of nieces and nephews, but he is a little nervous about being Daddy.

It might be kind of far for you, but Kay at The Nesting Place in Grapevine was awesome. We took all classes she offered: Baby 101, prepared childbirth & breastfeeding. She made us feel very confident in what was to come. She was also always available to speak to by phone, and housecalls after the boys arrived.

When I had my little girl they offered classes at Presby Hosp in Denton. I'm sure even if you aren't having your baby there you could still sign up for the class. My husband wasn't able to go to the class with me, but he has done great. He was the one that actually changed her first diaper. Even if he doesn't find a class, I'm sure he will be just fine. Once your little one comes along, you learn really fast.

I took my classes at Trinity Medical Center and they were great. Consider checking out if Lewisville medical Center offers any.

Like Kiki said, check with a Presby hospital. We took our class at Presby Plano. I would guess other hospitals in their systen have them too. You do not have to be having your baby there to participate.
