Daily Deal Sites like Groupon

Does anybody use Groupon or Living Social for daily deals? I've never actually purchased one and so I'm just curious as to how easy the process is, if there's a lot of restrictions that they put on them to make em "unusable" etc. Also, I've seen on sites like Slagbucks and TreasureTrooper that you can purchase Groupons through them and get cashback in addition to what you're already saving? Any advice/experience in this area?

I use Groupon, dailydeals, and gleeday and have never had a problem. Just read the restrictions before you buy and you will be fine.

I use Groupon and love it! I haven't actually bought one off Living Social yet, but the Groupon is legit and it's easy. There aren't many restrictions but before you buy read about it on the page. Sometimes it might be for only a certain product or service, but sometimes it's for anything the company supplies. At restaurants you can usually only use 1 groupon (or 2 groupons for a table of four or more) at a time, but all of mine have included liquor and all that. If you see one you'll use, go for it! I've been happy with all my groupon purchases!

LOVE LOVE LOVE Groupon!

Here's my referral code if you decide to try it out (I get $10 for referring someone too!)

It's super easy.
Customer service is wonderful and prompt.
They list any restrictions on the page you see the deal on BEFORE you buy anything - like expiration dates, limited usage, etc.

I've become a big groupon fan. Now my family and I give them to each other as gifts - cheaper for us to buy a great gift and give the "full value" to someone who has everything.

My mom just gave me one to a restaurant for my birthday, and said she'd include babysitting for our kids!

My best friend and I call each other when we see a great deal and plan outings with our kids (and give the hubbies a day off).

I love those deal sites! I've never heard of Slagbucks, but I use TreasureTrooper.com to buy all of my Groupons. They give you 2 "Platinum Coins" each time you buy your Groupon on their site. Platinum Coins are equivalent to dollars. So, $2 each time! Then you can visit their little store and spend your "platinum coins" on Amazon Gift Cards, Visa Gift Cards, Electronics, etc. I would highly recommend it! If you're gonna buy the Groupon regardless, you might as well save a couple bucks! Just think... if you buy 50 Groupons throughout the year... it's like you get a free $100! :)

I did one on doozyofadeal.com & while the deal was great & seamless, the business was not up to par. Just be careful about the business that you are purchasing the deal for, especially if it's a new one. A lot of new business partner with these sites to get their names out there & gain clientele.

I belong to Groupon. It is actually very easy and straight forward. They send you a daily email and if you are interested you click a few things and you're done. Sometimes its a g.c. to print off, sometimes a coupon to print or a code to use during check-out. I ended up with a free oil change at Oil Can Henry's and made a fabulous photo book for a great price through Shutterfly and purchased a g.c. for a massage for my mom. There is an option to purchase as a gift. Just be sure to read expiration dates and valid locations, etc.

Groupon is straight forward and easy. Haven't had a single problem with them.

I bought coupons from Restaurant.com and when I got to the restaurant they added an 18% tip calling it a sevice charge. (sigh) I know that others might disagree with me, but tipping is up to the customer. It's a reflection of service, not mandatory. So we likely will not use this coupon sevice again.

I've done Groupon and it is super simple and easy, I also use Ebates and when you go through them you get a certain percentage of what you purchase (through many different sites) and they have a Daily Double sometimes it is more than a double of a percentage.

I've used Groupon, Living Social and Family Finds. For the most part, I'm only buying for places I go to anyway. I've gotten some amazing deals including a 1/2 price family membership for a year to the Museum of Science and Industry. I've only had one problem with a Groupon because the company went out of business, but Groupon quickly refunded my money.

If you see a local deal you'd like to try, you can always ask around on Facebook or Twitter to see if people recommend the business.

I've used Living Social, Groupon, and Parents daily deals. I've generally had good luck. However, I recently purchased from a pizza place called Mr. Gatti's. When they found out I was using a groupon, the jacked up the price of my pizzas, claiming that the price previously printed on the invoice was a "special".

I have used Groupon a couple of times before. They are good and easy to use. Make sure you pay attention to the expiration date though (which in most cases I have encountered, is few months to one year).

To echo with another response below, I have used restaurant.com coupons and I find them somewhat 'deceiving'. For example, I buy a $25 certificate for $4 - but then I can only use it dining in at dinner time and I must spend more than $50 in order to use my certificate. I end up spending more money than I had originally planned to and it is not really worth it to me (because I did not have to eat out in the first place).

Other than that, I have not tried many of the other deals out there.

I use Groupon all the time, like someone else said I think I had a problem once, but they refunded my money, no questions asked. We use them a lot for date nights and have done a few tours through them.

LOVE Groupon & Living Social, I've been getting toooo many deals lately though! ;-) The one thing I will say though, is check out the websites & reviews of places BEFORE buying the groupon. I had two bad experiences, one with a restaurant & one with a salon/spa place. Had I checked the reviews before purchasing, I would have seen alot of complaints. I've found many of the companies that use Groupon/Living Social are fairly new places, so if your ok with triing out new places then go for it! We've saved a TON of $ using restaurant Groupon/Living Social deals.
