Diet Pill

I am looking for a good diet pill that will suppress my appetite. I have tried trim spa and that seemed to make me hungrier than usual. I took a multi-vitamin everyday with that also. I have also tried metabolift from GNC and that made me feel like I was on speed. My heart was racing and I was jittery all day. I just need something that will help me control my appetite and speed up my metabolism.

hi. may i suggest an alternative to diet pills? They are pretty expensive, right? try putting that money toward weight watchers where you can get good information about how to eat and when to eat and what kinds of foods and eating habits will best benefit your metabolism. I am not saying that you don't know how to eat, i just think diet pills are scary.
also, just FYI, start everyday with a glass of water, before eating anything...it kick starts your metabolism and will help quell your appetite. Water is a magical weight loss/appetite supressant without the wacky side effects. Try replacing most of your drinks during the day with water...you'll see a huge difference in your appetite and your metabolism will increase as well.

I've found that pills actually just end up messing things up as far as metabolism goes. You are better off just eating sensibly veggies, fruits and fiber -- no refined sugars or refined carbs -- just eliminating those from your diet will help reduce cravings. You are better off with a high fiber or protein breakfast (I like Wheatena or egg whites and wheat toast and fruit). Then just exercising 30 minutes a day will speed up your metabolism.

A great appetite suppressor is apple cider vinegar, but never drink it straight. Drink about a teaspoon (more if you can handle it) in a large glass of water daily. It will give you energy, curb your appetite and cut your cholesterol. Several years ago I lost 10 pounds in two weeks from this method. Good Luck!

The big key is consistency. One day at a time. I have found that most pills to suppress appetite don't really help. I have a huge appetite and eat all day every day. That actually turns out to be the best thing you can do. I don't know about a 12 year old by my 2 year old eats 5 times a day and I eat with him. I just eat bunny food a lot. Veggies and fruit. After my son was weaned and I could I took something to help with metabolism. I found it on the site I listed below. I read some of your other responses and saw a few with links to websites, but check out SMingee.QHealthZone.com, you will find lots of information as well as organic products.
Hope this helps.

I know people want a quick fix to things, but diet pills are not the answer. If you want to up your metabolism, starting taking brisk walks. If you don't have time for a 30 minute walk take three 10 minute walks throughout the day. This will help speed up your metabolism and also get you in shape. I don't know if you're thin or heavy or have the time to exercise or just don't want to, but diet pills are not the answer and they can be very dangerous to your health.

Have you thought about using something other than a diet pill? My concern is that a diet pill 1) is not helping you and 2) it does not help you to adopt the habits and lifestyle changes needed for permanent weight loss. As for controlling your appetite, something that works for me is to use the "volumetrics diet" that is - mixing your regular food with high quantities of very low fat fruits/veggies. For example- if you eat lasagna and a salad, make sure the salad portion is huge- full of crunchy veggies, while the lasagna portion is small (the size of your palm). I am like you - I love to feel full and this strategy helps me a lot.
The bottom line- if you keep barking up the wrong tree, you will fail- try another tree.
Hope it works,
Ana

J.,

Throughout my life, I've tried everything on the market
to lose weight. Last January, for health reasons, I
went to a nutrition specialist. She, very nicely,
told me that I weighted too much for my height. At
that time, I exercised regularly and ate whatever I
wanted. I was only doing half of the circle. She
put me on a diet for diabetics and I slowly lost
15 pounds. I've been able to keep my weight off
going into my second year. It really comes down
to moving more, eating a balanced diet, and drinking
plenty of water.

Diet pills don't work. You'll lose the weight, then gain it back with probably a few extra lbs. to worry about. Then the cycle continues until your hormones are burdened from the stress.

Hypnosis and Pilates was the only thing that eventually helped me lose weight and rev up my metabolism.

I've produced an audio CD call Body Consciousness. It helps you be more thoughtful of your body and emotions so that you naturally eat healthier foods, and exercise smarter. It's the foundation for a healthier, stronger body.

I would not recommend diet pills (see reasons in other responses). My best success has been with the South Beach Diet. I like it because there is no calorie counting and very little measuring. I recommend getting the book and the companion cook book. The book that explains the diet has 2 week meal plans for the first 2 phases. I found that after 2-3 days in the first phase I was getting enough nutrition and energy that my appetite was under control. The first 2 weeks are the strictest and the book has a list of forbidden foods (picture anything with quickly absorbed carbohydrates/sugars--no fruit, no bread, no rice, potatoes, corn, and no alcohol, but there are many more sugar-free and no sugar added sweets that are available). The book has many tasty recipes. After the first 2 weeks you can return to eating some fruits, real whole wheat breads and brown rice and whole wheat pasta(on occasion), and red wine. The diet is heart healthy and helps control blood sugar swings that contribute to the powerful appetite/cravings. Good luck.

I am taking a prescription diet pill. It is called Adipex. I am a 47 year old grandmother with a sluggish metabolism. I have tried everything (and I do mean everything) but this is the first to really help. I have been taking it since the second in November and have lost 37 pounds already. It is wonderful. I will tell you I have no other health issues except that I am very sensitive to meds and was very skeptical as to whether this would wind me up or not. I have not had any problems with it. I do have several friends who have asked their doctor and they will not prescribe it but they will allow all of them to take Alli. So, one of those two should hopefully help you! Good luck!

I don't know about diet pills but what I do is eat a healthy breakfast then a snack, usually a granola bar, around 10:30 then I'm not starving at lunch time so I just eat a light lunch. Then I usually have another small snack around 4:00 and a light dinner. It's weird but the more you eat throughout the day in small increments the more you supress your appetite and lose weight. I was 140 before I got pregnant and now I have a 19 month old and weigh 105. Of course chasing a toddler is good exercise too!

Hello J.,

Diet pills caused many problems for a dear friend of mine and they were the primary cause of her severe liver problems, which, unfortunately, caused her death. I've used them myself in the past and also had problems with mind and body highs and lows, jitters, and other problems! I firmly believe they're very dangerous to a person's health! If I may, I'd like to suggest the Shaklee Cinch program. It works -- in about 6 weeks (since the middle of January this year through the end of February) I've lost 13 inches and 10 pounds. Cinch contains natural ingredients which includes a powerful essential amino acid called Leucine. Leucine helps burn the fat, not the muscle. Over the years I've learned that with most diets you lose fat and muscle, and muscle loss causes a lower metabolism which means your body doesn't burn as many calories, and when you don't burn the calories, you don't lose fat; sort of a vicious cycle (yo-yo diet!). It's the fat you want to get rid of, and you really want to keep the muscle -- that's what keeps the metabolism working to help you lose inches and weight. I found within the first 7-10 days my jeans weren't so tight around my waist, hips and thighs. That was the motivation I needed!

I learned about Shaklee products a long time ago and I haven't used anything else since! They have a reputation for safe and natural products. The Cinch program keeps me in check, and best of all it's safe and healthy. I have chosen to market Shaklee's elite products exclusively, and have helped a number of people learn about the Cinch program. Right now I'm working with several individuals, but particularly an individual who is nearly 400 pounds who will begin the program tomorrow (Monday, March 3rd).

I've been a member with Mamasource for only a few months and just Friday night I placed a couple of ads here at Mamasource, one about Cinch (look under Health & Wellness, Diet & Nutrition). Please feel free to investigate my ad and look at my website (www.cinchplan.com/jmckenna/home. also www.shaklee.net/jmckenna). With our Shaklee business I work with people all around the Maryland, Virginia, and DC areas. Please contact me via email (____@____.com) or through my website, and I'll provide you with my telephone number so that we can talk further, and help you stay away from the dangerous diet pills.

I hope this information has been helpful, and look forward to hearing from you soon. Meantime, please give some thought to avoiding the diet pills. Thank you for taking the time to read my response. Regards. J..

I would suggest before jumping to diet pills to really look into your diet. Diet pills led me down a horrible road to health. Not until the birth of my son did I really start to focus on nutrition - and that was where I found Monavie (of which I am currently a distributor). However, I can honestly say that this juice helped keep up my energy (in a calm way), gave me better sleep, helped stabalize my moods (now I'm off my depression/anxiety medication), and improved my circulation!!

Other people have told me that it helped them loose weight (since it regulates blood sugar and improves digestion), and others - took away joint pain. The list is endless, even though Monavie cannot say that it is a cure all.

Please take a look at my website:
www.beantime.net
(click on Monavie - Drink It, Feel It, Share It) Lots of great information. I hope to hear from you. Any questions, please feel free to give me a call.

Slimquick is a good appetite suppresant. Starting off, you take 1 pill in the morning on an empty stomach and another 6 hours later. Again, on an empty stomach. After one week, you take 2 pills in the morning and 2 6 hours later. They work as far as suppresing your appetite. The first time I took them, I lost about 15 lbs. I stopped taking them for a while becasue I became ill with a kidney infection. (not from the pills) There are a lot of diet pills that suppress your appetite, but they mess up your metabolism really bad! My mom started me on diet pills at 19. I wasn't overweight, but I had picked up some weight since high school and SHE didn't like it. Now that I've had 5 kids' (the youngest is 4 and the oldest is 14) and 4 c-sections, I'm desperately trying to lose the weight! Try drinking a lot of water and walking. I don't get a chance to walk, due to the type of work I do, but I have these really fun workout DVD's. It's called Turbo Jam and not only do I love them, so do my kids' and husband! We work out together and have a lot of fun doing it! Just drink water and do some brisk walking. The water will suppress your appetite for sure.

Hi J.! The key to loosing weight is keeping your lean muscle mass while dropping the fat. Our Lean muscle mass is what keeps our metabolism going (the more muscle mass the higher the metabolism). Many people loose weight then gain the weight back plus more...b/c they have lost muscle mass along with fat while dieting. And, that's why diets don't work. And, that's why men loose weight a lot faster than women b/c they usually have more muscle (not fair, I know). I am an at home Mom of two children (17 mnths/5yrs). I trusted Shaklee's Cinch Weight (Inch) Loss program on myself and have seen many others succeed. Cinch works b/c it's powered by Leucine which has been scientifically proven that you will keep 100% of your lean muscle mass while loosing inches/weight. There is no need to take a multivitamin while on this program b/c you will receive head to toe nutrition while taking the Cinch products. The program consists of (Yummy) shakes, mealbars, snack bars, tea and 3 in 1 boost (Boost metabolism.* Help keep blood sugar steady.* Get the vitamins and minerals you need) It's a super easy program! Shaklee is a science and a Global Health and Wellness company that's been around for 53 years! They are the Leaders in the Nutrition industry. I am proud to present them and would love to send you more information on their Cinch program. Check out my website at www.shaklee.net/rodjenhoward.
I understand you are also looking for a part time job. I work my Shaklee business VERY part time and make nearly $1500/month plus I have qualified for the 2008 Hawaii trip. Yay! What I like about working with Shaklee is that I don’t get paid until I have made a difference in someone else’s life (get healthier, loose weight…). It’s a very satisfying career. Let’s talk more. Contact me anytime! Take care. J.

basically there is no good diet pill

what will help is this

to speed up your metabolism you need to eat 5-8 small meals aday.

so as soon as you get up in the morning have some fruit, then about 3 hours later eat a ceral then for lunch have two pieces of bread sandwich. then about 2pm have some vegetable or fruit, and then a good sensible small portion for dinner. if you are hungary after dinner before bed then have a light bowl of cereal.

also if you are hungary after all that, take yourself away from the food, go for a walk go swimming watch a movie, you can also eat plain airpoped popcorn. no butter or salt.

well hope this helps you out.

You are a young 30 years old with a 12 year child; you do not want to take unnecessary risks with your health by trying diet pills; that in most cases contain ephedra/ephedrine; which are amphetamine-like compounds used in OTC products. You have already experienced the side-effects of using this type of product. My suggestion is that you discuss your concerns about your appetite; and your desire to suppress it with your physician. I believe that you should get advice from a licensed medical practitioner; instead of trying over-the-counter pills, that in most cases are not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). There may be something else going on that affects your appetite; and your physician would be able to make a better assessment. Another suggestion is to consult a nutritionist, who may be able to help you; by suggestion dietary alternatives.

I take these along with a chocolate protein shake and an orange fiber shake each day to loose weight. We have recorded thousands of pound lost, they taste really great, money back guar., and the website is very supportive with menu ideas, chat rooms, etc... It will work if you need to loose a couple pounds or a lot of pounds. YOu must be really careful because a lot of products out there have not had adequate testing and end up creating health risks . Our company is 28 years old and anyone would be impressed with the amount of research and development. You can only buy these products directly through an independent consultant like myself or with an online referral code. Check out the website and see what you think. Let me know if you would like to give it a try or maybe try a few samples first. Good luck on your weight loss goals.

Fruit and a balanced diet is the answer. Fruit can fill you up with few, but healthy calories. Nuts, also have protein and fat and can fill you up. The best diet is the diet of a lifetime. Eat wholesome foods, fat, protein, and carbs in moderate portions. Anything that comes in a package and is processed, is usually loaded with calories and will only make you crave more food. Eating frequent small meals, or healthy snacks, throughout the day, beginning with breakfast, will maintain your metabolism at a high level all day.
B12 in combination with folic acid under the tounge, is excellent for controlling sugar, chocolate, junk food , etc cravings. hope this helps. sorry i didn't offer any diet pill advice.
