I don't know what you're financial situation is but I am with TXU as well. I told them that my children are on Medicaid, which they are, and they have a low income assistance plan. My bill still runs about 300 a month but I think these days you are going to get that anywhere. So now when I get my bills I have a low income assistance deduction and a Customer appreciation deduction on there as well totaling about a 50 dollar deduction. It's not much money compared to what your bill is but it helps. Also, be sure and watch your bill. They sent me a bill one time for 1400 dollars and there was no way that my bill could have been that high. I called them and complained and at first I didnt' get anything done. You have to talk to a supervisor. So when I did that I only ended having to pay 150 dollars when I got off the phone. I don't know how that happened unless they were really just trying to put one over on me. Anyways, to answer your question I was thinking about changing over too but it's just too much of a hassle. I wasn't sure that my new electric would be on before they cut my current one off. I have never even heard of the electric company you're talking about though. I hope everything works out for you.

Hi G., Have you considered Stream Energy - there is a month to month rate as well as a fixed...you determine what's best for you. I have been a happy customer for several months and in the interest of full disclosure, am also an independent director with them. Feel free to browse my website www.davedls.igniteinc.biz where you can view an Energy Rate Comparison Chart as well as sign up for service and make money on your electric bill as well. Happy to answer any other questions you may have!

Pretty much any other company you choose will be lower than TXU. It is a little confusing, but go to powertochoose.org to see all the companies in your area and what their rates are.
