Has anyone taken an infant CPR class in the NW suburbs area?
Yesterday my 8 month old was choking and if my husband hadn't been there, I don't know what would have happened. Anyways, thank you for any information!

Hi, I am a family child care provider who is licensed with DCFS. So I do need to have CPR/First Aide. I go to either the YMCA in Elgin or Sherman Hospital. You could call the hospital near you and see if they have classes. Once I even went to a fire station and a paramedic gave a class.

They did a great job with my office and the local Boy Scout troop. Very professional.

Hi S.:
Most fire station offer CPR and also hospitals. Try calling a few places. Also junior colleges!
Otherwise, go on line to American Heart Association and see what there class schedule is for the upcoming months.
God bless,

I am required to know CPR as part of my job. Contact Elgin Community College, they regularly have CPR classes.

Hi S.,
It is a very scary thing, even for those of us who are certified. I'm glad everything is fine.
Local Hospitals, as well as your local fire department will hold classes on this, typically once a month. I took mine at the Huntley Fire Department. Give either place a call to find out when the next classes are offered.

Our hospital (Good Shepherd in Barrington) offered the class. It was listed in the Baby Classes.

We took it when I was pregnant with our first son and I also had my mom and my 14 year old sister take it. We had to use it twice with our son. My husband one time and me another. I thank God we took that class.

You should be able to find them in the Elgin Hospitals or Centegra as well. They do them about once a month.

Yes, any one of the hospitals in the area offer them. They're fairly inexpensive, and you and your husband can take the class together. We took ours at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village (the same hospital where my daughter was born. We took the class right before she turned 1, so we were able to benefit from both the infant and child techniques taught in the class. My daughter is almost 4 now, but I know the hospitals still send booklets out that advertise classes because we still get them. Good luck!

Try your local fire department, hospital and park district. I get certified early other year at our local fire department.
