Dora the Explorer Carseat and Booster Question

I was looking at booster seats the other day, and I saw this thing and it is truly horrifying! Oh my goodness, has anyone else seen it? (I will link it in the 'so what happened'). I mean it wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for those bright yellow hand grips! I sometimes wonder what marketing people are thinking. Am I alone in this?! Would anyone buy this? No offense if you think it's cute, we all have different tastes. I'm not against Dora at all, but wow, I've never seen marketing go so far. Actually it doesn't look that bad in the pic... way scarier looking in person ;)

Anywho... any good advice for a small booster, that is still safe... preferable a 5 pt harness? We need to move my 6 yr old son (who is on the small side) to a booster b/c we need to make room for an infant carrier, so any good tips on squeezing 3 carseats in a back seat would be awesome.

What can I do next?

I have seen it. It is awful! My husband saw it one day too and thinks it is creepy. I don't like the Sponge Bob one either. But, I guess if it makes the kid stay in the seat....

Look into getting a Harmony Dreamtime booster seat. They are inexpensive, super safe, have won awards and they are fairly narrow.

Oh wow that is a little scary. I'm with you not my taste either. I have my 3yo in a Britax Frontier that's a 5pt but will eventually become a booster when she's ready. Not sure if it's right for your 6yo. What do you have him in now?

Wow, this is my granddaughter's car seat, she picked it out. Mom didn't care for it but Dad said he'd put it in his car and there it is, and he's the one who drives her the most as Mom is frequently traveling for her job..

I think it's 'fugly'. But I am not much of a Dora fan. Plus it's kinda creepy that you're sitting in her lap and using her hands as your cup holders. I prefer earthy colors too. My son's car seats are both gray. Simple, matches my car.
