Extreme Fatigue and 12 Weeks Pregnant

Hi...Okay, I'm still pretty sick to my stomach most of the time and am on a prescription for it. It is helping and I can keep some foods down and have stopped throwing up violently. Now, I'm so tired that I can barely keep my eyes open for most of the day. I went to bed last night at 5 pm and woke this morning at 6:30. I can't remember when in my last two pregnancies that the fatigue broke. Any advice on just getting through the day...thanks!

What can I do next?

Look at what you are eating? (it might be fine). Maybe eat more protein/meats, less processed things. Listen to your body, it does amazing things. Maybe you just need the sleep. I know that I slept way more when I was pregnant.

Good Luck and congratulations.

Sounds pretty normal to me. You probably aren't getting the same amount of rest you did with your last 2 pregnancies since you are now watching TWO other children. I remember being way more tired with my second. See if you can finangle a little more rest and see if that helps.

You sound anemic. I was anemic for my second pregnancy. Mention it to your doc.

Extreme fatigue could be the meds you're on (fatigue is/could be your side effect to it), it could be low iron/anemia, your adrenals could be low (you state you have had more than one pregnancy), your thyroid could be low. The little one is taking a lot out of your body while he/she is growing; it wouldn't be unnatural for your body to be low or depleted in something. And if your body is already low/depleted in something from your previous two pregnancies--well, I'd seriously bet your body is clamoring for something it doesn't have right now or that's rapidly depleting (hormones, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, etc.)

I'd mention it to your doctor and have your doctor do some intense lab work to see if you can pinpoint the problem.

I was like that with my second pregnancy until several weeks into the second trimester.
