Feedback on Obs at Center for Women's Health at Evergreen

Does anyone have any recommendations or feedback on any of the OB's at the Center for Women's Health Evergreen (www.womenshealthcare.org)? I'm trying to decide who to see for my second pregnancy. Even just info about someone's style would be great. It's hard to decide who to see based on web profiles.

Doctors include: Michele Delorit, Anita S. Ninan, Karen Wells, Diana L. Villanueva.

Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thank you for all the great responses! I've actually decided to set up an appointment with a midwife for my 8 week appt. Turns out only two docs are accepting new patients for Feb delivery, Delorit and a new doc (who's name I can't remember right now.) My last pregnancy went fine so I had actually been leaning toward using a midwife, but since I have recently been diagnosed with a fibroid (just one, just 4 cm) I thought I'd have to see an OB, but the midwife I spoke to said I could still use them. I am sure I will get high quality care there.

BTW, I saw a new NP there for my annual exam several months ago, Lynn Walsh. She was very thorough and followed up with me even after the appt. She was a bit clinical but I liked the additional information and I would not go so far as to say she was cold at all.

Thanks again!!

Hi P.,

Dr. Wells delivered my second child in 2005, she was great! Very relaxed and competent. I did my follow-up care with my regular OB from the group (now retired) but wouldn't hesitate to select Dr. Wells if were to choose to have a third child.

I haven't been to that group before but I just switched to Dr. Morell and he is wonderful. He is so kind and gentle and you can tell he really cares about his patients. I had to have an emergency C-section for my twins and he was right there through the entire thing even though he wasn't the "on call". He is also at Evergreen Hospital. ###-###-####

I went there 7 years ago when I was pregnant with my 2nd. I decided to go with a Midwife, because my first pregnancy was normal, textbook, no complications. At my 2nd check up, the Ultra Sound Tech found a complication with my baby almost right away. Alot of the Docs came into the room to verify what the Tech was seeing. They were all very nice, very professional, and were able to get me in to see the Perinatalogist (Specialist) that was located downstairs right away. Because of the complications of my baby, they dropped my case and I went to the Perinataltologist for the remainder of my pregnancy. I need to go get my annual exam, and will go back there (I've been neglectful of myself).
The birthing facility was top notch, and couldn't imagine having my baby anywhere else.
My baby is now 6 1/2-but came into this world with a 45% chance to live.
I feel very blessed and grateful that we went to Evergreen. I know this isn't answering your questions. But in my experiance, in a group like Evergreen, they are going to want you to meet all of the doctors in the practice, because you never know who will be on call the day you have your baby-and they want you to be able to see a familiar face. I would make your appointment, see them all in the course of your pregnancy, and decide when you meet them.

I love this group. I've delivered twice at Evergreen and it's a fantastic place to give birth. Unfortunately, my favorite doctor from Center for Women's Health no longer works there. After she left, I saw Dr. Delorit, who may come across as cold to some people because she is a naturally more quiet person. She seemed nice to me, though, and not rushed. Just not a bubbly type personality. For any future pregnancies, I will continue to go with this group but with the midwives. (I've had two very easy, healthy pregnancies.) You can always give one dr. a try and if you're not crazy about her, switch to another.

We moved here right after my son was born and I needed to see an OB for my 6 week. The only available doctor was M. Delorit. I was NOT impressed. The entire appointment was rushed and she seemed very cold. I've heard wonderful things about Dr. Wells, but because she is very popular it's hard getting an appointment.
Good Luck!

I saw Dr. Villanueva for my annual exam as the two docs I saw previously have left the practice. She was nice enough and listened to me. She was a little too matter of fact for my taste - not a warm touchy feely kind of doc. Of course, I've seen her once and she didn't know me from Adam so that could have something to do with it too. I've heard good things about the midwives there as well if that would work for you. Good luck!
