Four Year Old Girl Gift Ideas

I need some gift ideas for my four year old daughter. She already has so many Barbies, baby dolls, and dress up clothes that I am having trouble coming up with new gift ideas for Christmas. If I ask my daughter she says she doesn't know or asks for something very similar to other items she already has. My five year old son knows exactly what he would like. In fact I'm almost done with his shopping. I want to be sure "Santa" doesn't overdue presents for one child and neglect the other. HELP!!!!!

What can I do next?

I totally understand because my daughter does the same thing and I refuse to buy basically the same toys but a different brand. I always try to look for things that will bring out my child's imagination/creativity. Their playtime is so important in their development. Try a few educational toys at www.discoverytoyslink.com/yolandab. That way it could be things that both children can benefit from and receive a headstart in school readiness. The prices are very reasonable also.

My daughter really loved electronic educational toys at this age, and continues to play with them. She received both a Leapster and a LeapPad (www.leapfrog.com) the year she was 4 yrs old.

The good thing about these toys is not only do they teach (math, reading, phonics, writing, as well as manual dexterity, patience, etc!) but they are portable for long car trips, waiting rooms, etc. AND you can buy cartridges and books for them as future gifts. I love this concept because they are "non-clutter" gifts!

I've actually bought many books and cartridges from eBay and never had a problem with them, but did have a problem with an actual electronic toy (the Leapster itself) that I bought used on eBay. Look for these to go on sale at Walmart, etc. for a better deal than taking chances on a used one.

Also, you can usually demo these items in toystores, Walmart, etc. to see if it meets your needs. :)

Art supplies like markers and paints and rubber stamps. Or jewelry making kits that include beads. Age appropriate games (Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, Memory, Connect 4, etc.). Favorite character books. Just trying to think of things I can remember getting around that age. I know art supplies or anything personalized with my name were big.

My daughters love the Littlest Pet shop toys as well as my little pony stuff. They espcially love the my little pony twinkle stars dance studio. Dress up clothes are always nice and also the kids make up kits. Bath toys, bubble bath and soap crayons are always good fun too. Last year, I had my girls look for what they wanted from santa on toysrus.com and make a wish list, then we printed it to send to santa claus. It was nice because I just moved what I decided to buy to the shopping cart and put the order thru. It really made christmas trouble free.

This is just a small gift, but I make hand painted purse banks. I am just starting out, but I do have a myspace account where you can go and see some of my work.

They can be personalized in any way!

I like to have my daughter (she's 4-1/2) look through toy catalogs we get in the mail, like Toys To Grow On and even the One Step Ahead catalog and have her point out things she would like. Of course I tell her she may not get any of them and she certainly won't get ALL of them :-) but that it helps mommy know what she likes. She really likes it and it has really helped me with ideas, especially when the grandparents and aunts start asking for ideas.

I agree and was going to say the same as the previous response.
Art supplies are great as well as playdough with accessories. The Hullabaloo game and other Cranium games are so much fun. Does she have a play kitchen and supplies? How about those cute kid laptops

Good luck!

books, books and books. If she doesn't read, buy books to read to her. Her vocabulary will only improve and books will open her mind and imagination.
