Hey girls!
One of my old roomies from college is coming to visit for the week. She is still single and I have a hubby and two kids so I am trying to come up with some fun things to do with her while she is here. She doesn't mind hanging out with the kids but is there anything that you recommend that is fun for both adults and kids? Or something you recommend we do at night while my hubby can stay with the kids?

Just some info: my boys are 23months and 4 months old, we live in south arlington, my roommate and I are both 27... and both broke so that limits us somewhat. Thanks!

What can I do next?

The Hurst water park is fun for kids and y'all could chat and work on tans :) It's $4 and free for 2 and under I think. Bedford Splash is a little larger and is $6 I believe. Both are fun, Bedford Splash has a small lazy river and 3 adult slides where as the Hurst one only has one and no river. Both have little splash parks for the wee ones...I'd probably go to Bedford Splash just because it's a little more fun for adults and since you have really young kiddos it might be better for them too. The Dallas aquarium is awesome but $18 a person so not cheap. We walked around the stockyards yesterday at 3 and although it was hot it wasn't unbearable and it was cheap, we just ate lunch and "window" shopped so I would def. recommend going there just for something to do. Other than that and malls I can't think of much! Have fun with your friend!!

Dallas Aquarium would be fun for adults and kids alike. I also agree with the suggestions on Central Market and Hyena's.

Horse races at Lone Star Park. Very cheap to get in and you can place cheap bets. It's really a lot of fun for a couple of hours. Southlake Town Center is fun to walk around too and there is a Central Market across the street.

Central Market Usually has bands that play out on their patio. Its free, and you can buy a bottle of wine and sit out on the patio. You can pretty much buy anything you want from inside and bring it out. So its up to you how much u spend. Also @fair park this weekend is the Taste of Dallas on one side and the Reggae festival on the other. You ride the rail into fair park you can save $ on gas and parking but you will have to check thier websites to find out costs of everything else. Maybe go lay out at the pool and sip on Margaritas with your friend while hubby babysits. Thats cheap, relaxing and can keep u cool in this heat! For night time check with Hyena's Comedy Club they usually offer free tickets alot w/a 2 item minimum purchase. So thats usually fun and rather inexpensive! If I think of more I will let you know!

I am not sure if you get Groupon emails, but today they had an awesome deal for Fort Worth/Arlington. http://www.groupon.com/r/uu###-###-#### Its 2 games of bowling and shoe rentals for 4 people all for $20 at this place: http://www.splitsvillelanes.com/# (looks like a very cool place) I have bought 4 things off of Groupon, its awesome and it will save you some cash.

Also Kimball Art Museum in FW have free admission to their regular exhibits, but the traveling exhibits usually cost money. Central Market is a great idea another person listed below. Also walking around downtown FW is fun...might be a nice place for you two to go out to for a few drinks. There are lots of fun spots down there. Oh you may also want to try the minor league baseball games....you can get cheap tickets. There is FW cats and the Frisco rough riders (I am not sure if they are in town this weekend).

Have fun!
