Yeah, not gonna' happen any more. The industry leaders are so huge, we are so dependent, that they don't have to offer incentives. Also, most of the little "Mom and Pop" stations are gone now - they were the ones who took care of loyal customers.

The biggest Gas War I see in my town is the Kangaroo charging 2 cents less than the Chevron down the street. Yup, I go to the Kangaroo.

I know!!! WTH!...They figured out how to hang us buy our gas gage! So, they no longer need to get us there...They know we have to get there eventually. Now the name of the game is...How many wallets can we empty per day!

Bus baby bus!! Or any other type of public transportation...That is the war cry now from our house!!

I live right down the hwy from you.....

On Thursday nights, our Mobil raises the price....to gouge the wkend traffic to Branson & to the lake. The price goes back down on Mondays. I HATE it! They tend to do this on holidays, too. Each year, we hope for better....

We've also learned that if the other stations raise their prices in the evening, then Delanos can't raise theirs until the next morning! We've saved quite a bit of pennies by buying before morning.....

people started to pay with credit cards at the pump so there is no reason to go in an perhaps grab a coffee/snack that would make up for undercutting the other guy... if all that happens is loss they can't do it.

I remember those but then gas was less than 30 cents/gallon. They used to give away gifts too.
The thing is the amount we pay for gas now is mostly taxes and not the price of gas hhhhhhmmmmmm. Maybe a re-election is necessary.

I am not at all surprised, only that it took so long. $5 a gallon has been the norm in Europe for many years now. It sucks, but I really do not see it going back down in any significant way.

I just hope people will not use this as a jumping off point to vote in candidates this re-election that will drag our nation backwards once again.
