Getting Rid of Moles

Go adopt a cat from the SPCA. Make sure it's a mouser. There, done! :)

Moles don't eat grass/plants they eat the grubs and worms so maybe treat your lawn for grubs?

We've tried everything. Grub control, flushing their runs with water, smoke bombs, oil, poison worms, etc. The ONLY way we've been able to control them, they still are not completely gone, is like Jo said, wait for them to move then I stab the run with a shovel. But who has time to stand out there? We've bought a couple of traps that are triggered when they try to go through and it stabs them. Sounds nasty and harsh, but even our local guy who knows everything about that stuff celebrity, says thats they only way to get rid of them. And like I said, we literally have tried everything else.

Chewing gum. My dad used chewing gum, before we got a dog - just the plain old traditional flavor. It gets stuck in their teeth, and makes it hard for them to eat.

Or you could stake a dog with good ears out there, and let him dig them up. You'd have to fill in the dog holes, though. Cats are less destructive to the landscaping.

I have a 'black thumb'...and was SO proud of my plants that had 'returned the next year...

THEN...those VILE kritters came through...

I tried everything...the 'sonic' things...I had imagined they would cover their ears and run away! NOT SO! It merely annoyed the 'little sh$% dogs' next store.

I tried chewing gum (juicy fruit...hard to find...was recommended).

We tried moth balls.

We have a cat...she got a few...then lost interest...

We now have a severe looking contraption that 'spears' them...

Our 'body' count is up to 6.

We are also planning 'new dirt' and a retaining wall with a new driveway...I am hoping that kind of construction will drive them away.

The only other thing I can think is to 'adopt' them...

Perhaps not!!

I wouldn't do it for a vegetable garden, but for my lawn, which was pretty expansive, I located the hole, poured a bunch of vinegar and baking soda down it, then put the hose into the hole and let the water run. My neighbor poured bleach down the holes and then ran the hose.

They build a tunnel system underground and it seems mean, but flooding them out on as much a regular basis as possible will send them elsewhere. Vinegar and backing soda mixed together can unclog a sink or bathtub drain. Gophers and moles don't like it.

I know this sounds funny, but have read many places that say to put
a portable radio down the hole playing HEAVY METAL ROCK. Supposed
to make them nervous or something and they run away.
