Good Book for Mom

Hi Y.,

I like to read, but don't have much time. I like eay-read mysteries. Tamar Myers has 2 different series. One series is about a Pennsylvania-Dutch Bed and Breakfast owner and they have recipes, too. All of the titles are a play on works, like "Too many crooks spoil the broth" and "The crepes of wrath". These are my favorites. There are 14 or so thus far. The other is the "Den of Antiquity" series. It's about an antique shop owner on Selwyn Ave here in Charlotte. The author lives in Rock Hill. She does a new book in each series, each year. She has a website.

I just started reading the books of an author who happens to be a professor at Queens University here in Charlotte. Her name is Cathy Pickens and they are about a SC lawyer. I think there are only 2 out so far, but they are fun.

Some of my favorites (when I can find time to read) are Nora Roberts, Sue Grafton, Jennifer Crusie, and Debbie Macomber. Another good one is Wendy Howell Mills--she was a local author from Nags Head, NC so I don't know how easy her books would be to find around here but you could look her up online. She is VERY good and nice--I got to meet her a few years ago.

Anything by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (definitely lots of mystery). They have a series but you don't necessarily need to read them in order. The first book was turned into a movie years ago called "The Relic". Basically anything written by them I pick up and can't put down until I'm done with it (even sacrificing sleep to get that done). Also I've been reading the "Kentucky" series by Fern Michaels (if you like horses it's very good fiction reading.

nicholas sparks books are great and pretty quick to read!

I'm a big fan of Iris Johannson. If you like Christian fiction, Don Brown has started a series based on an NCIS agent - Treason and Hostage. A 3rd one is coming out soon. If you like legal dramas - Richard North Patterson is really good.

Stephen Kings-Cell ..was pretty ok
The Drowning Tree by Carol Goodman ... was very good!
of course Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code was good (I have yet to read his recent one)

I am a huge fan of Robin Cook too. I also like James Patterson,Nicholas Sparks ,Stephen Kings (more of his older books before he got hit by that car), Dean Kootz and a few more but cant think of them right now. I also read the Bible A LOT (NIV)

I going to check out Wendy Howell Mills to see if I like her. I live about 45 min from Nags Head.

I, personally, am a BIG fan of Robin Cook. He has LOTS of books out and he is an exceptional writer. His stories (for the most part) are medical mysteries that will literally keep you turning the pages. Some of his stories have recurring characters, but for the most part it is new book, new characters.
