Hi,
I live in Mckinney and am looking for a new Dermo. I used to go to Dr. Matter in Plano, who I think is great.. BUT.. she gave my son a prescripton for excema that can cause cancer in children..and I was not happy about that - neither was my pediatrician.

I want several moles removed. So, if any of you have had any removed and had a good experience with no scars etc., please let me know.

Thanks so much!

What can I do next?

There are lots of good dermatologists in Plano, none that I know of in McKinney, 1 -2 in Allen. All dermatologists are super busy. Some who have PA's or NP's see even more. Do you have health insurance? In case you have a deductible, my experience is that derms are very expensive. Another less expensive & faster option is to try family practice doctors who specialize in lesions, laceration repairs..... If you are interested, call Family Practice Associates. ###-###-#### Dr. Edwards is very experienced with lesion removals and he will do the procedure himself. Good Luck.

Hi T.,

Do you mind me asking which excema prescription you are talking about?...my baby's doctor gave her a prescription for excema as well, just want to make sure I am not giving her something I shouldn't. I am looking for a new dermo also, I had a mole removed on my back while pregnant last year, and it left a really ugly scar...be sure to use vitamin E or something to prevent this...my dermo said I didn't need to use anything, that it would heal itself(ha)...and well since I was pregnant and huge, I couldn't reach it without assistance anyway.

Best of luck in finding a great dermo!

Hi T.! I don't specifically have a recommendation for a dermatologist, but I did want to respond. I don't know if you've ever tried Arbonne's baby care line on your son, but I know several friends who use it exclusively for their children for the specific purpose of controling their eczema. I have been so impressed with this specific line of products. I wondered if you'd had a chance to try them on your son? I'd be happy to give you a sample if you like. Just let me know. You can also go to my website to learn more about Arbonne's products: www.mandyolsen.myarbonne.com. We also have a product that essentially erases scars too! I use it on a biopsy scar I have from my teen years, and you can hardly see a mark now! Anyway, good luck finding something that works for you. Take care, M. O.

I'm also going to say Dr. Barrows. I've gone to his PA, Jill several times to have moles removed. She's great and it's a rather painless procedure. Good luck.
