Hey Mamas!
This preg. has caused my facial skin to get SOOO oily. Does anyone know of a good matte make-up that actually works? Seriously, I put on my make-up, and 2 hours later, you could probably see your reflection in my face! Bleck!
Thanks!

Hi A.,

I'm pregnant, too, and have found my face to be more oily. For some reason, I've found that the mineral powders make my face even more oily. I guess I'm not the norm! I use the Arbonne Personalizer, what one of the other Mamas mentioned using. I use liquid foundation and then put the personalizer on top. If I need more throughout the day, I just put some more on and my face looks great, like I just applied my makeup. My forehead used to be so oily that by the end of the day, I could blot it with a tissue. However, since I started using the Arbonne Personalizer, my face has not been as oily.

Please let me know if you'd like more info. Good luck finding what works best for you!

Jacqueline

I like Bare Minerals as well, but am transitioning to a different brand. Here are some great online sellers that make their own mineral collections for MUCH cheaper, and awesome quality, you can even order sample kits to make sure you get your best shade:

I agree mineral make up is the way to go. I used to sell it myself :) There are tons of online companies selling it now. Just make sure their products do not contain fillers such as bismuth, talc, or cornstarch; also no dyes or parabens.

I like this company myself, and they also provide free samples: http://www.signatureminerals.com/ There is simply no need to spend big $$ on make up anymore. Minerals are natural, cost SO much less, and are great for your skin too. My face has cleared up almost completely since I switched to minerals about 9 months ago. I suffered from an oily complexion as well. Give them a try!

Well at the risk of overloading you with too many suggestions...Arbonne also has a mineral powder foundation that really helps to cut oiliness (I use it myself, both now and during my pregnancy), and it contains SPF 15, and NO talc. They also have an Oil-free personalizer, which you apply like a pressed powder to keep oiliness at bay if needed (however, the product itself is NOT a pressed powder...that will just make you lake cake-y; it simply APPLIES like a pressed powder). The foundation is $34 and lasts several months, and the Personalizer is $25 and lasts basically forever. For more information, please go to http://personalbeauty.myarbonne.com.

I agree with the other mom... bare minerals worked miracles for me. I hate to wear makeup, but this stuff is so easy to apply, and looks natural. I bought the starter kit from Sephora (only to see it cheaper on ebay) -- and the instructions said that if you have really oily skin or it's really humid, to use the mineral veil first then apply the foundation power. It really works, and it doesn't feel like you're wearing makeup.

Hands down to Bare Minerals. I am a very oily person and had acne too. I got on Acctuain and my dermatoliogist reccommended it and I am hooked now and could never go back to reg foundation. I have my mom and grandma using it too. I know Arbonne sells it b/c I am a rep but I am hooked on my Bare Minerals and actually they have the same ingredients in both of them so it really doesent matter as long as its natural you will get the same effect. I am no longet oily at all and I actually think all the foundations I had ever tried to put on to cover my acne were not letting my face breath and that leads to more oil. Well try Bare Minerals or contact me if you ever want to try the Arbonne versoion if your not happy with the Bare MInerals version that I use. (Go to Ulta and they will color match you and show you how to apply it. I suggest you buy the Kubuki brush so the coverage will achive the look you want vs being too sheer..also if you end up not liking it they will take it back and even the brushes and refund it in full so I thought that was pretty awsome). Well good luck I am a true suffer and know the pain it can cause!

Hey A.,

I've got a great product for your problems! It is true in pregnancy our skin changes a lot! I had a similar problem!!! When I got pregnant I knew my skin was changing because all of a sudden I had really bad acne due to the oilyness I got (just like you). So, luckily I had a girlfriend in Mary Kay that hooked me up!!! She probably shouldn't have but I'm so greatful to her that she did!

We (yes I'm a consultant now, because the product worked so well I wanted the discount!) anyways, we have a product that is specially for oily skin! It also has anti aging goodies in it to help fight the signs of againg that tend to creap up sooner then we'd like. This is the system that I used and it worked!!! It even worked so well I don't have to do powder touch ups throughout the day!

Our foundation is also specific to your skin type. There is a type for oily skin as well! Brilliant, huh??? If you would like to try it, I'd love to show you! I also have a 25% discount to mamasource gals!

Its also 100% satisfaction guaranteed so if it isn't just right for you even after you've given it a good try, we'll take it back. Its guaranteed for the LIFE of the product, no 30 day or 3 month timeframe!!! Its the real deal!

Let me know either way! We can get together ANY time that's good for YOU!

Thanks and hang in there!!
Congrats on the new baby!

If you are looking at Bare Minerals, check out Everydayminerals first. You can find them at www.everydayminerals.com. They are based out of Austin, and VERY affordable. They will send you a sample kit for just the cost of shipping if you want to try it out. I actually like it BETTER than the Bare Minerals.

honestly bare minerals has worked sooooooooo well for me...i have naturally oily skin & all my life have had problems with make-up, but bare minerals really keeps the "shinyness" to a minimal. i purchased mine on ebay, & got a sample starter kit for $20, & it's great! plus it came with a good amt. so you really get a feel for the make-up & whether you like it or not without having to spend a ton...i got the starter kit, some eyeshadow samples & a kabuki brush & spent less than $30 in all, & that's including the shipping!
hope this helps!
