Hi Mommies. We are getting a Wii for Christmas and I was wondering if any of you can offer recommendations for games for young ones. Our children who will be using the system are 6 and 4. Also, do any of you have any feedback on the Littlest Pet Shop game, the Build-A-Bear game or the Clone Wars game (with the light saber)? Thanks!

What can I do next?

My two love Wii Play, Sport, Playground, and MarioKart. The best about this is that they have two player games so my kids can play together. They also like Cooking Mama and Mario Party.

Have Fun!!!!!

The best game for my youngest (4) is Mario Party, because he can do ALL the minigames, and they only last like a minute or so apiece, so its quick gratification. My whole family (4,7,11 boys, and mom and dad) like that one. Also, all the lego games Indy, Star Wars, and Batman. We are also getting the Clone Wars game for Christmas, and just FYI, at costco.com they have Lightsaber attachments for the controller that make them into glowing lightsabers. They cost 19.99 for a two pack

Oh my gosh! 11 replies and no one mentioned Boom Blox?! That must be the best kept secret around! The game is all about knocking down block towers, amazingly fun and entertaining, so much so that our whole family plays it often!

I also have to second Mario Kart, Mario Party (my son's favorite since he was about 4) and Wii Fit. All are great, easy to play and fun for adults and children alike.

My 5 year old loves his Wii.. great choice on getting an active gaming system!
Other than the ones already mentioned his all time favorite is Cars. Diego games, his wish list is including the new Dinosaur game, are great too.

One thing we've learned tho is to rent the game before committing to buying it. We are sitting on a couple of games that he just doesn't like. I use my free coupon from Blockbuster online to rent the game for a week. That has saved a lot fo frustration on both of our parts.

my kids were at their cousin's house for Thanksgiving and we played the "Wii Fit" system. It is an attachement pad and game that you purchase. It is REALLY great, and they get so much exercise!! They both love it and are asking for it for Christmas. My son is 8 & 1/2 and my daughter just turned 5 yrs. I would recommend Wii Fit!

My kids also love, Super Smash Brothers Brawl (has characters from Nintendo), Wii Sports, WarioWare Smooth Moves, and my son LOVES Thrillville off the Rails, which he can design a roller coaster and theme park. Also, Super Mario Galaxy is fun.

Hope it helps! :)

Hi M.,
We just got Wii for my 6 year old. We got the Wii Sports package and we love it and play as a family. The 6 year old will be great with it, the 4 year old will need some help learning to use the controller. The best thing is the Mii Channel where you can create "Miis" for each member of the family. We made some for the Grandparents too. They are hysterical! You can buy games at Game Stop (some are used, some are new) and they will let you return them if you don't like them or if they are too hard.

Have Fun!

We got a Wii system this past summer after playing it at our daughter's house. They have a then 4 yr old daughter, we also have a 5 yr old daughter, yes, the sisters are that far apart in age, but both little girls love the bowling and the baseball that comes with the Wii. It's so much fun to watch them learn how to do it. No fear, no wories about "doing it right". Can you rent some of the games after Christmas to be sure you wouldn't be wasting money on a game they might not like? Just a thought. Have fun & have a great holiday.

The Star Wars (Lego), Indiana Jones (Lego), Batman (Lego) & Mario Party 8 are the BEST!!! We have the a few Mario games Mario Strikers its too hard for the 4 yrs old ok for the 8+. Paper Mario and Super Mario Galaxy are ok but they are only one player ( but really fun). They liked the Sims game its pretty kid friendly. Not like the Sims for the PC. Carnival games is ok if you get it used but the kids didn't think it was too good. The cooking mama game only my girls (9&12) liked it the boys (3&5) not so much.

** Leslie your right on I forgot about BOOM BLOX My older kids 5 and up LOVE it!!! I can't believe I forgot that one they begged for months!

I have Clone Wars but we haven't opened it's (for Xmas) I am also getting the Little Pet shop for Xmas. I don't know much at all about that one but my 9 yrd old WANTS it. I hope that helps a little.
